kWeld from Keenlab now available in the US

Price is $229 plus shipping, I am located in Kansas, and I have 15 units left. These are the latest "Revision 3" units. The max possible shipping will be roughly $19 (within the USA only) if you wish me to use the USPS "if it fits, it ships" box. Depending on your zip code, the shipping cost may be ...

Aren't those percentages the wrong way around, or did you mean 4.05?

Re: Given 80 90 100 % what is the sweet spot?

When looking at the discharge curve of just about any 18650 cell, there is no extra range between 4.1V and 4.2V. The 4.2V number is listed as max charge, but...that is only because it is capable of taking a charge to 4.2V, it doesn't mean its a good idea. Since I found this out, I haven't charged to...

Re: Affordable fabrication tools for DIY custom work

I have finished the fold-away table saw, and it has turned out to be quite nice. I am now working on a thin "wall hang-able" lathe / drill-press combo, and I have used a style that incorporates a tailstock element that clamps onto the main frame with a "T-rail" style of coupling (similar to this htt...

Re: 18650 spot welding -how to- ULTIMATE REPOSITORY

Perhaps try installing a significant slit down the center of the nickel strip at the point where you are spot-welding. There is the possibility that some of the current is passing through the strip from one probe to the next, instead of passing through the steel shell of the electrode of the cell. Y...

Re: 24V/48V UPS as an inverter for mini power-wall

Whether I choose 24V or 48V, a lot depends on what components I find at an affordable price, but...I already have three 52V ebike batteries (58V max SOC), so its unlikely I will go the 24V route. That being said, a quick google shows 24V car alternators are available to use as a back-up generator. I...

Re: houston, we have puffing. this is a bad battery, correct?

Looks like 24V, since its Lithium, perhaps it's 7S? If you decide you'd like to discharge it, certainly do it outside. Use two 12V car filament bulbs in series, or a 120V / 40W lightbulb. Put it on concrete in a place where it will not hurt anything if it does go up in flames (or in an old steel bar...

Re: Which Controller for my daughter's wheelchair?

I can appreciate your enthusiasm for this project, and as much as I am a fan of high-powered builds, the 1500W Direct Drive (DD) motors are very much overkill for this. They are heavier and more expensive than necessary. If all of them were powered to their full capacity (the only reason to buy hubm...

I took a quick google and it seems like Araldite is similar to JB Weld? I think it is worth trying, and if it cracks, you simply move on to something better. But...if it works, it's a quick and easy way to fix a small problem. Perhaps mix the Araldite and then sqeeze it into a balloon? Place the bal...

Thanks everyone, for reminding me of those important concerns. 24V/48V UPS as an inverter for mini power-wall

edit: I'm probably going to go for the 48V UPS, but...here is the link to the 7S / 24V UPS lithium swap. One of the nice things about 24V is that you can find a 24V alternator, and also alter a 12V car alternator to output 24V, then run it with a lawn mower engine... https://youtu.be/OtBI_Dr2cII?t=2...
