Re: Bought New Nissan Leaf

Yep own my house ( or will in 6 years) and I have my own back yard where I park and plug in.

I hope to get the 32 amp EVSE to take advantage of the more powerful charger in the leaf but in reality the 16 amp or 3.5 Kw charger is fine for most of my use.

Re: Bought New Nissan Leaf

congrats!, Leaf still my favourite large EV, not the best aesthetics from the outside, but the inside and overall performance / size / price is what I find the closest approach of how an EV must be. How many chargers do you have in Ireland? can you buy a Leaf directly from authorised dealer in you ...

Bought New Nissan Leaf

Hi All, Bought a new top spec Leaf on the 24th Jan this year and I've clocked up 9,600 Kms (5,965 Miles) . I'm leasing it over 3 years and 25,000 Kms. (15,500 Miles) I will probably go over my contract mileage but they will write off some of that depending on how much they want my business again or ...

Re: Need more hill climbing power

How about a MAC 10-12 T Geared hub from http://em3ev.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=36&product_id=107 These are great hubs, 60-72 volts should give you the speed you need even on 10-12T ? The 8T is great fun but the 10-12 T would be far better for regular steep hills. 10-12T and/or 2...

Re: Renault Zoe Test

Zoe isn't a bad car at all, the motor while not the strongest is leaps and bounds better than any underpowered petrol or diesel engine Renault normally stick in their cars. But I agree the Leaf is leaps and bounds better, if only had a 0-44 Kw Ac on board charger !!! I got the Leaf top spec 3 weeks ...

Re: Nissan Leaf Fast Charging Temperature.

Sure, I've read mynissanleaf about fast charging in hot climates but I was interested how fast the temperature rose from 23 degrees to 30 at a temperature that day of about 20 degrees C. I would love to See the temperature if I had charged to 90% ! Charging at slower rates is always good but I don't...

Nissan Leaf Fast Charging Temperature.

I had a loan of the current gen bog basic spec for 2 dya test and I have to say I enjoyed it a lot. When you're not worried about range this car is a lot of fun. It handle very well and accelerates really good but the best of all is the almost instant power, they do have it restricted a bit from tak...

Hillhater wrote:Where and when can you use a 44kW charger ?
At 440 v that is still a 100 A supply required !
There are plenty of street charge points here capable of 22 kw and most of the fast chargers are A/C D/C and some have CCS too.

The Zoe can make best use of our charging infrastructure.

Renault Zoe Test

Impressive, little car, decent boot for its size. Interior full of hard cheap plastic but doesn't look too bad, I drove the one with the really bright interior which I don't like but they have a darker interior which looks much better. It's god pretty good acceleration to 80 kph then it drops off aft...

The heat pump costs 1500 euros extra here in Europe, yes that's right, the heat pump isn't standard on a car of that price! I've heard the Rex can't have the heat pump, this was on German forums, though a I can't confirm this but I do know it's optional. I think the I3 is well over priced. The Renau...

Oh yeah lol.

You could limit the throttle in the controller.

Though I'm sure Paul could make up 1.4 kWh in 48 volts either.

Or you could just turn the throttle down in the controller.

75 volts in an 8T mac would probably do close to 50 mph.

2C Max I think. Here is what the man himself says: Whilst the 22P cells are 3C rated and can deliver 2C or more continuously, and the 29E are 2C rated, it is recommended not to run them at these levels on a routine basis. If your setup and usage means that the pack will be operated at high continuo...

Re: Xiongda 2-speed motor

20 amps is still more than a crank drive such as Bosch, the advantage of the crank drive, you can adjust the gearing and can now even get a cassette 11-42 and a 42 on the front will mean good speed on the flat with wall climbing capability. The advantage of the hub and Xiongda over the Bosch is the ...

27 degrees would be 51% grade, although they were pedaling and riding a switchback pattern across it. Anyone could pedal that with low enough gears, so it's imposable to say how much the motor helped, or how close it got to total melt down. It makes a nice sales video. A more useful video would hav...

Re: Bafang BB xx dual chainring mod

I too would go with the large cog on the cassette, the Dual Drive III creates drag while pedalling unassisted, so I removed mine on my Bosch bike with the penalty of 20 mph limit, which suits my cadence and dodgy knees. I would be limited by the steepest of terrain, but It copes with most of my ridi...

Re: Washing machine motor causing out of balance!?

Most washing machines today have imbalance detection and will stop the spin to even out the bulk in the drum causing the imbalance then re start the spin again. This is on front loading machines, I'm sure the same applies to the top loaders too. One of the best machines I had for a stable spin was a...

I think on the Phantom forums they recommend turning off the GoPro wifi because it's on 2.4 Ghz like the controller and it can interfere with the gps seemingly.
