Denver?

Postby Windnwater » Thu Jun 28, 2012 10:41 pm

Interested in learning and building a bike conversion, are any of you folks in the Denver area?

Would very much like to see some bikes and get some face time with like minded enthusiasts.

Thanks,
Bob

Seems there's quite a few folks in Colorado that are into this endeaver. I would also like to meet and see people that are into this.

So far it's all been cyber space, and the folks that have seen my bike think it new and weird and the ones who try it like it.

So a meet would be Cool.

Hehe... I had a guy at a store today ask me about the mirror on my sunglasses. I asked him if he wanted to try them and he did and said they probably helped a lot. I told him "I feel naked when I don't have that mirror!" He then asked about my bike and told him about the motor. He had a look of shock and disbelief and he wanted to look at it. We went outside and I asked him if he wanted to try it... he did... ev grin!

:D :D :D Huge Thank You to Deardancer3 for the face time and the butt to eBike time. It was like a mini course in eBike history, approaches, technology and batteries.

Some face time with you Denver folks that checked in would be most welcome. Let me see if I can arrange something for us after the holiday.

Enjoy!

I had great chat with Zap on the phone and agree a time and place to meet would be great. I realize this a tough call due to peoples various schedules and location.

Any PM's with people interested should be carbon copy, so all can get on the same page as to scheduling etc. I am flexible as far time is concerned, just need a weeks notice.

I want to see it happen

Happy 4th

I got busy all of a sudden but I'll certainly try to meet up whenever/wherever. I'm around 88th & I-25.
A weeks notice or less would work for me.

I know we are all busy, but are we ready for some face time?

How about Thursday, July 26th, at 6:30pm at the Sonic on Alameda , near I-25.
The actual address is: 2790 West Alameda Avenue, Denver, CO (303) 934-5535

This seems to be a good central spot, close to I-25, and being a Sonic, it should lend it'self to some eBike show and tell.

If this time or place doesn't work for folks, please suggest another time or place.

Looking forward to meeting all of you folks in person.

Hmm, I'll see if I can make it. For me Saturday mornings work best, but I'll see if the weather is good i'll bring my e-moto. I have a iZip Urban Cruiser that I'm looking to sell. It would make a good starting point and an easy upgrade to faster e-bike.

We had a great first Meetup with the Denver area folks and a wide variety of bikes represented, from handmade works, to purpose built bikes, eBike conversions (mine) and Woody the pusher, a cool folding Trikke, and two very sleek scooters.

If you attended, and had not signed up on the Meetup page, please do so we have who was there.

Please feel free to join the Meetup group so you are sure to hear about future Meetup's. Our nest one will be a Saturday morning eRide. Details to follow.

I like Colorado and its people. Very outdoorsy folks, and they know how to keep the place clean. I've only been a couple times, but I likes me some Colorado.

New Meetup, an eRide along the Platte River train through Denver.
Meeting at City of Cuernavaca Park
3500 Rockmont Dr, Denver, CO
8:00am. Saturday august 11th.

Join our Meetup group here: http://www.meetup.com/eBikeDenver/

This MeetUp will be an eRide. Bring your electric, your conversion, your want-to-be converted bike, along with your enthusiasm and questions. This will be a fun chance to get out and play, see how different designs work and perform.

This is a great write-up from Kevin at trailsnet.com on the trail we will be riding: http://trailsnet.com/trails/platte-river-trail/

We just need to decide on how long a ride we want to take. About 10 miles out would bring us to the River Point Center on Santa Fe and Hampden. That would be a 20 mile round trip, with the return on a slight downhill grade.
