well, for starters you could cheaply and easily add 12v to the existing kit.. more volts = more speed.

To go with an outrunner you will be spending A LOT more money, but i certainly am not discouraging you from doing it !!!

edit , fyi, you posted this in the used, for sale area as a double post.. i removed the other post.. 8)

milo, there is no " One size fits all" solution for an Ebike . Every ones ride is a combination of requirements, expectations, and limitations ( Skills, resources, budget, etc) ,..so for anyone to tell you what to get or build , could leave you disappointed and broke !
I suggest you get stuck in and read as much of the build threads, and tech articles on this forum. Then ask specific questions to clarify things you dont understand.
Self education is the way forward.
This forum owes its existence to Justin of ebikes.ca

If you type with periods, capitals, sentences, and paragraphs your questions would be easier to comprehend. Every sentence should start with a capital letter and end with a period. Take a breath when you reach the end of a sentence.

Skip a line when starting a new paragraph. Paragraphs contain thoughts about the same idea. Go drink some water when you reach the end of a paragraph.

I no write so good. Capitalize the letter i when using I to describe yourself.

Good luck with the bike!

LOL. Best thing you can do besides learn to use periods would be to go read the non hub motor section for a few weeks.

Look at lots of threads that document how others built chain drive ebikes. Enjoy, luckily you are young and can skip sleep for days and days.
THE LIPO RULES. NEVER ABOVE 4.3V NEVER BELOW 2.7V DON'T PUNCTURE

Look up some threads by Aussiejester and you will find all your answers. in particular his 2 speed hobo bike.

If your running it through the gears then a Castle creations HV160 controller with a RC cycle analyst is probably the easiest by a long margin. Batteries you would by Zippy or Turnigy from Hobbyking, realiable quality and the easiest to use would be 6s5000mah Zippy 20C ratted batteries. Getting your hands on a C80-100 motor is not that easy anymore and its abit of a waiting game to get one from Leaders hobby, or CNskyhobbies. Either one sells them regularly but they seem to wait till they have like 10 people buying the motors before they even bother getting them in to ship out to people.

I made a mistake. Not all sentences end with a period. There are also questions? Exclamation points! and more~`!@#$%^&*()_+:;"/',.<>?//*-+. That's what I see on my keyboard. There are more symbols buried in this computer some where. Obama says "Don't believe everything you read on the internet".

Very true.

I'm afraid I couldn't get beyond the first two lines of the original post, because the lack of any punctuation made it too much like hard work to understand.

In my view, if people want advice then the least they can do is make their request as clear as possible.
Please ask questions on the forum, rather than by PM, as it helps others and you'll get a better range of answers.

They turnigy C80-100 is hard to get atm so unless you want to spend big bucks and get a Astro motor or a Hacker motor then something like http://www.leaderhobby.com/product.asp?ID=9394001224729 will do the job. 2kw constant and can be pushed to 5 or so peak. If you have the money buy a complete kit from Recumerance as all his products(motor and drive line) are insanely well built.

http://www.ffrtrikes.com/Cycle-Analyst- ... ca-lrc.htm Is so you can limit your controller to not blow up the motor and give you information about you battery life etc, needs a simple Hall throttle to and you can plug into the Castle controller to have it all work

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Castle-Creat ... 5893c362f3 Is one of the cheaper ways of getting a controller, its over kill for the motor but seeing as the motors are the cheap items its worth going over the top.

The Turnigy 80100 is impossible to get, no more, at least for the time being. I'm still waiting for my refund for all the motors they sold me long ago but never shipped before discontinuing it.

So I ordered the same thing from someone else. $102 + $13.75 + $15 each. Actually a bit less than HobbyKing and supposedly I'll have them in 1o days. That someone else would be SkyHobby.

http://skyhobby.en.alibaba.com/product/ ... _toys.html

There's a few other prospects.
