I'm making new wire harnesses for my bikes now that hk finally has 5s and 6s batteries with 8ah capacities. All I need to order now is 5.5 bullet connectors. It's weird but epbuddy doesn't have 5.5 bullet connectors. I found some on amazon.com but they are pricey at 5.95 for 3 pairs. Powerwerx.com is great for Andersons and tricrimps but no bullets. Anybody have good source for not only 5.5 bullets but any off the shelf wiring goodies?

Use the 5mm EC5's myself

I'd use the 5mm myself but the zippy 5s8ah uses 5.5mm

Spec.
Capacity: 8000mAh
Voltage: 5S1P / 5 Cell / 18.5v
Discharge: 30C Constant / 40C Burst
Weight: 1054g (including wire, plug & case)
Dimensions: 170x69x44mm
Balance Plug: JST-XH
Discharge plug: 5.5mm Bullet-connector (without housing)

One option would be to convert the packs to a 12 g wire, allowing the use of other connnectors of your choice. If you are paralelling them, chances are 12 or 10 g wire is all you really need. Then if needed, go to the fat wire on the other end of the harness.

If for example, your bike is max drawing 60 amps, and you have 2 packs paralelled, each pack only needs to feed 30 amps. So a few inches of 12g wont be a big problem there.

I like Andersons much better, I change all my batteries to andersons
I do not like bullets as much, Soldering can be a pain in the ass when you can easily just crimp Anderson style take you half the time

Andersons are shit. Sorry.

why?

I only like the 75 amp ones +, i hate the 45 amp rated ones, the 45 amp rated ones i use for hall senor and throttle wiring.

I actually use the 75 amp ones on my biggest controller and they never seem to heat or warm up... I use them on phase and battery connections...

id say 300 plus phase amps and upto 150 battery amps!
no problems yet, I think id like bullets if they had bigger end bits for the wire to go in, and better housing...

i dont know how accurate this is, just kitchen scales,

but the 75 amp anderson is the same weight as the 8mm Bullet connections
5.5 mm bullet half the weight of the 75amp anderson

They are freakin huge for one makes for bulky wiring, i can understand the use of them on
motorcycles but IMHO no need for them on a e-bicycle. I tried the 45 and 70amp in the past
had issues with the connection of the spades.... jm2cw
