CORBIN Sparrow Electric Vehicle

Postby br549 » Wed Jul 28, 2010 7:17 pm

I closed the deal on a Corbin Sparrow listed on Craigslist tonight (sight unseen). It looks like a pizza-butt from what I can tell in the pictures. I'm flying out to Florida tomorrow at 5:30 am to pick it up. The guy says he still owes $1000 on it so the title isn't free and clear at this point but he said he can take care of that tomorrow.

I'll report back with pictures. Hope I'm making the right choice here. I guess the batteries are shot.

Congrats! I was just telling liveforphysics about the Corbin Sparrows, and showed him the grey exterior/orange interior one for sale in Florida, I bet you bought it!

The Meyers Motors factory is a short drive from me, and I thought their platform is the VW electric bug of the 21st century.

Again, congrats and good luck!

You should have taken some wagers from others on the forum with that guess.

So, I take it you are the proud new owner of the one described? Either way, I hope you will share your driving impressions and experience with the Sparrow! If it is, he was saying in the ad it is one of the Myers Motors ones... that should have most of the Corbin bugs removed.

you may be able to tow it home on a motorcycle type trailer and pull it with a small car.

maybe google will find a home brew type trailer build blog you can use for ideas to build your own.

put a small winch or hook a comelong on the front and pull it up onto the trailer if the batteries are gone.

pictures? and congratulations.

I'm going to buy one of these little guys as well. A replacement commuter for my Honda Insight.

That's a pretty cool paint job. Nice vehicle. What part of florida did you pick it up from? Is that a dumbell weight in the "trunk"?
How much did you end up picking it up for?
