Texas Mile...cool. Love the shot of the '53 Studebaker making a pass in the promo film.

Honda has a test track set up for high speed testing. It is a huge (like 7 miles) paved oval, so you can build up speed in the corners and then just hammer it down the straights, and then . I know this isn't the same thing as a standing start run, but still pretty cool. I've always dreamed of being able to do some runs there.

edit: I did a quick search to check out more details, since it was a long time ago that I had heard about this facility. Apparently it was up for sale in Jan.

My realtor showed that to me.. was a bit out of my price range though. :D

See now that is the right place to do stuff like that. Take it to a test facility, official race, track day, empty road or whatever. I'm sure Stoner, Rossi, Spies, and others have the skill to pull off the stunts Pat does.. hell I probably know two or three people that could do it. But just because they CAN do it doesn't mean they DO go out and do it. Most people do stupid shit on their bikes or in their cars once in a while. But to purposely do at a time and place when traffic is heaviest, then go out and publicize and sell the videos.. that is another level. Cool vids and all. And I enjoy them, but to say everything is kosher with it, no its not 100% kosher.
