Comet torque converter to rear 10" wheel mod

Postby ioniscool » Wed Dec 21, 2011 8:20 am

I wonder if some has tried to use a comet torque converter from http://gokartsusa.com/GTC-Comet-TAV2-30-Torq-A-Verter.aspx but using the secondary belt pulley to mount DIRECTLY to the rear wheel 10" outer diameter and not sprocket to the wheel sprocket. I wonder how much effieciency could be generated from this setup. Using a me0909 3800 rpm unloaded and 2500rpm loaded.

I don't think you would get enough lean clearance when mounted to the wheel,
best to use another stage..

here's one on a moped,
but read his comments...
