And the underside.. copper missing..

I'd solder in a piece if i knew or understood what goes where..

yeah.. learn as i go..

So this time i took it outside to an isolated circuit ( garage sub panel, not in the office with my PC and other sensitive electronics )

Plugged it into a power bar, hit the switch, no smoke, no pop, no output..grrrrr..

hey.. does the polarity on that toroid ( round do-nut looking thing wrapped in copper ) matter?

Looking at the goop residue left, i put it in backwards from what it used to be .. if that matters..

anyone ?

Nope doesn't matter (polarity - its just a coil of wire).

You gone and shorted rectified mains to earth. Oops. Test the base drive resistors, they end up as fuses on these as well. If your transistor isn't shorted (would have taken out the fuse as well) then you may have wrecked more semiconductor havoc in the bridge rectifier, or turned something else into a fuse
New evil decided - GNG offroad build on Craftworks DHR with 12S4P lipo. Aim - Light, balanced, powerful, able to climb a tree.
Project Vectrix restarted. Status - BMS + Charge control redesign (read faffing with batteries again)
