Thanks again Sangesf for another cool vid. I really like the blue accent lights under the seat. The vid you posted yesterday, enspired me to think about adding a bananna style seat with sissy bar to my OCC bike. I'm planning to get an original long seat, and the spring style sissy bar kit off Ebay, so I can carry a passenger. I'll have to add foot pegs too, but that's easy.

I actually haven't hook up the LED accent lights yet..
What you probably saw, was the reflection of the blue lightning bolt stickers in the chrome on the rear fender... But now that you mention it!... I'll probably put one of the Blue LED accent lights under the seat.. (There's three of them on the one plug). Thanks for the idea! LOL.
So one will go under the seat, one by the front "cockpit" and I'll probably put one facing the front forks so that they'll shine blue too!
This is why I love this thread (and this board)... We give each other good ideas...
(There's another board I'm on and any time you ask for help or ideas, the others usually want you to pay them like $300.. LOL)

P.S. Brian, I still remember you offering to send me a spare OCC for only the cost of shipping.. If I can ever return the favor (or at least thought of a favor), let me know...
I have some spare electric brake handles, rubber grips for handlebars, switch (like I use for my directionals - as seen in my video.) and some other odds and ends.. (Albeit, I'm financially, [UN]stable, right now.:()

That's ok, some folks arround here will tell you I'm unstable period!  So don't feel bad. I live on low income, so it's stable, there just isn't very much of it! I was sure that was a light under the rear of the seat, it turned out so well. I decided against the Stingray banana seat, due to weak sissy bars and clamps. As always, thank you for your input.

Nope... Just shiny chrome..

Chrome Cleaner by "BlueMagic".
(Cleans Chrome and "removes" rust)

Chrome Polish by TurtleWax.
(Polishes Chrome and "clears" rust)

Once a week, I Polish (takes 30 min).
Once a month, I Clean & Polish. (takes 1hr).

Rust that's on there already almost never "goes away", you can only remove the "surface" rust and "clear" it by polishing.

Before I put on the aluminum boxes, I'll have the forks and rear fender sent out to be re-chromed and will re-install the lightning stickers (you can get replacements from USChoppers).

I'm even gonna wire in some red LEDs in the tailpipes, maybe even "flickering" red LEDs (like the kind that look like candle flames...)

I like the exhaust pipe light idea, should look nice whipping by at 20 mph. Here's my first vid uplink. Sorry for the crappy quality, but it's only a 3 mpx cam in 620 dpi mode. Add to that it's soft mounted to the handlebars on a rigid bike on crappy road, and well it looks a bit like this.

Enjoy my coast ride down into the park in 30 degree weather on the OCC runt.

You lucky SOB! I been lookin to get one of them, for the battery box, and the front forkes, along with an XL, for nearly a year. Well, I hope it serves you well, that's not a bad price either, considering I'm trying to sell a plain OCC for $100. Here's another vid, this time, it's me practicing for Wolfy! Try to ignore the breathing, the mic on the cam is insane close up.

Rock On .....Brian .....Rock On
Just been doin' a lot of lurking last couple days
too paainful to type....must be healing up
still trying to wrap my noodle around the rear axle / trailing arms spread
I remember reading in the forum about a piece that threads onto to axle and allows another threaded round stock to be inserted thus extending length of axle.
To me is a lot like a pipe coupling ......can't find it now though
anybody remem what I am talking about too?

Go back through this thread, or just drop the folks at it's electric a line. They are the ones with the axle extensions. And I apologise for not practicing enough, or there wouldn't have been any sour notes.

When I'm done with it, I'll probably have a spare set of forks AND the case for the center is actually in really bad shape.. You would have to sand it down and repaint it..

But when I'm done with it, you can have the forks/battery case just pay for shipping.

I wouldn't mind a bit of sanding. Are those forks the ones with the brake attachments? That's why I'm interested. My memory says they have front brakes. As long as the case screws are not stripped, I want it. I just want to fill it up with lipo and mount it to my OCC, and swap in forks with front brakes. Can you measure the distance from the bottom of the forks to the brake mount holes? and tell me if the holes are pointed toward each other or are pointed toward the rear of the bike?

I'll check and I'll take a few shots of the forks.. (They have front brakes.. BUT neither the brake "calipers" or brakes will be on the forks... Only the mounts that are part of the frame.)
I'm at work right now.. I'll do that when I get back home.

Oh and since you posted a vid of a ride, I figured I would too....

Well, I started off, went about 1/2 mile and was about to start taping UNTIL...

Yep, you guessed it.. LOL.

Geez, it's getting so a guy can't even park a motorized vehicle on the sidewalk anymore, without risking a ticket from the man! Ok, skip the forks, I still want the battery box. I'll have the cash for shipping on January 1st.

Oh, I wasn't parked..... He was riding behind me for about 1/4 mile before I finally stopped (There was a garbage truck in front of me, for that 1/4 mile picking up garbage) and I tried to wave him past me (I was riding in the bicycle lane...) and THEN I realized it was "Johnny Law", when he asked me to pull over. Heh.. He must have been pacing me to see what my speed was.. (Thankfully my speed is limited to 20mph... It was even on my bike computer.. MxSpeed 20.0 ;))

No ticket, no problem, I always say. If that had been me, he'd a caoght me speedin, or arrived just in time to see my pack spontaniously combust. Then he'd a ticketed me for an unregistered camp fire! or smoking without a license! I'm gonna have to try a different setup on my cam, I sem to remember it getting better video quality than I got yesterday.

I spoke with the guy..
He said the battery case is missing the Screws that hold it together..
I'll have to see if the local home depot has those types of screws..
Do you need any of the buttons on it? (e.g, on/off switch, fuse holder, "PC" connector, etc).. The reason I ask is, that I usually re-purpose those for other things, but if you NEED them, I'll leave them on.

Nah, you don't have to worry about it. Keep me in the loop if you get it, and you think the box is salvageable. I have pretty much everything but batteries, boxes, and bits from the shop. You got me watering from the mouth about finding a chrome rear fender off an OCC to use on the Spoiler for ease of maintenance. I even decided to look into getting a springer front end for the OCC as well. Mabye I can slow down the twitchy high speed manners and make a decent cruiser out of the Stripper.

CB Radio.. Check (already have one, just haven't hooked it up yet.. (also has a PA function on it and I have the PA speaker))

Police Scanner? LOL.. What for?!?

Radar Detector? I only have a top speed of 20 mph. Heh.

I already have a 12v 60AH (Lifepo4) Battery setup for my lights, directionals, radio, speakers, SUB (w/neon lights that blink to the music), brake lights, CB, 400w DC/AC inverter, etc.

Oh I also use that battery and the inverter (plus a 36v 2a brick charger) for an "emergency charging system" for my "driver batteries"!

Riding a bicycle with headphones on, in Florida, is illegal..
The radio takes my iPhone connection, USB Flash Drive and an SD Card!

P.S. Oh and with a name like Kim, If I were you, I wouldn't be calling anything I have "girly"...
(Something about a pot, a kettle, and the color black, comes to mind)

Kim, LMAO! Yeah they're kids bikes, but they're way strong. The short wheelbase, cheap parts, and lack of suspension kill the buzz for me. :? I'm lookin at adding Springer forks from Choppers.us to slow down the steering, and soften the blows. :D Trouble is, that's a $500 upgrade, on a 50 cent budget! The Rock Shox style does nothing for me. I like the CB, but I'm a ham so I'd have some VHF/UHF stuff under the lid. A weather radio, and an Eperb for remote spots. Mainly, I just want to finish one of these, so I can get some seat time in. Spent some time on the tele with Ice, and cleared up an issue with the harness. Today was video Monday, but the weather threatened snow, so I chickened out. This vid will be longer, but at a lower resolution, to try and stabilise the picture. Still chewing on the battery box bone. :? Someone mentioned tower standoffs but I can't find the links now. Cheers!

Kids bikes yes, if you only knew how thin the mild steel tubing was that these things are made from
i dont think you would be calling them 'strong' either...I would be worried about internal
rust too, the two i cut apart were rusting away from the inside, you can buy spray specifically
for the inside of bicycle frame tubes, i would suggest you get some if you don't want your frame rusting away.

I don't know about the "other" Schwinn OCC bikes, but the Electric ones I buy and use are quite durable... Just like any kind of steel, if you leave them outside (especially in warm, humid weather), they will rust rather quickly.
That's why I make sure to bring in my bike any time it's raining or warm/humid.. Learned that after the very first one I bought, I left outside for a month before I started working on it and it was rusted quite a bit. With steel framed (low-carbon) bicycles, keeping them away from inclement weather is always a good idea..
Plus, keeping it clean helps too!

Aluminum is even less durable, but doesn't rust, but it does "oxidize"..
The chrome is even less rust resistant than steel, but oh.. It's oh so "pretty"!
