Hey There!

So I'm assembling my first E-Bike which is basically a Vitus Gravir dual susp frame with all of the componentry of my "07 Giant XTC
(it uses Avid Juicy Hydro brakes with 160mm rotors)

I am using a Crystalyte H4040 motor and the first thing I noticed was when I mounted up the rotor the hydraulic calliper would hit on the motor,
so I decided I would use a smaller rotor behind it to space it out, enough that it would clear ( literally 1mm clearance )

So I thought I would be sweet until I went to mount up the calliper and bam it was out by like another 10mm...

I spaced the calliper across with a few washers and as ghetto as it looks it actually works quiet well, with little to no resistance.

HOWEVER... I don't like it like that, It scares me.

Has anyone else come across this issue and if so how did you fix it?

Yeah we all have those issues with all the motors. I machined up a disc spacer so that my caliper mounts on the swingarm without spacing washers and it's perfect. Nothing's ever simple with these diy ebikes! 8)
