48v 15ah V-Power battery charging

I bought this battery from a guy on craigslist for next to nothing.

Am I charging it correctly? I only ask because there is a burning plastic/electronic smell and the BMS is quite hot and I've never owned one of these duct-tape packs.

Edit: The tabs popped, explaining the smell. WIll charge outside!

I have the charger (wall) > BMS > Battery white wires and battery clip wires.

Does everything look set up correctly as far as you know?

You say "the tabs popped". What exactly does that mean?

you will have to stop charging and open the battery up by removing all of the duct tape and taking good pictures of the battery pack so we can see where the spot welds have broken and where you will have to take the pack apart to try to salvage what is left.

My Vpower BMS also gets very hot.
I have not experienced any odor of melting plastic.
