Hey Sydneysiders!

Just a big fat reminder that the fourth and final round of the eFX Championship, aka the Australian Electric Superbikes will be on at Sydney Motorsports Park, otherwise known as Eastern Creek Raceway from November 21st to the 23rd.

We are looking at a record number of entrants this year, with O'Hanlon, Ripperton, Catavolt, 2 Varley's, a Zero or two, and a Brammo! I can tell you Voltron Evo is ON SONG, so I think we can expect a record to fall pretty early. Get along and support Aussie e-moto racing!

You can find details about the weekend here: www.fxsuperbikes.com.au and you can always hit up the eFXC facebook page: www.facebook.com/eFXC2014

PS If you know anyone on the east coast who would like to get along for the first time, contact Malcolm on malcolm@faed.name as you will need to register the bike for electrical scrutineering.

BUMP!!!

The eFXC Oz Electric Superbikes are on this weekend at Sydney Motorsports Park!

We have 6 entries all fired up and ready to roll. If you want to come on Friday, entry is free. If you want to come on the weekend, it will cost you, but make sure you get in nice and early as the Electrics are the first race of the day (like 9 am) or be prepared to hang around until 5 pm for the last race of the day.

See you there!

Great day of practice & qualifying at Eastern Creek / Sydney Motorsport Park today. I found it a bit warm but Chris & team O'Hanlon from WA seemed right at home in the heat.

39 deg C (102 deg F) air temps and hotter track temps gave many of the electric bikes the chance to ride to the point of thermal roll back whether it be in the motor, controller or cells. A good chance to find limits & avoid meltdowns!

Bikes I saw running today were:

Constructed
Voltron Evo
Ripperton (converted Yamaha R1)
Varley

Production
Brammo Empulse TTX
Zero SR

Congrats to team O'Hanlon for taking poll position in qualifying! Results from each session attached.

Thanks for putting these up, Abraham! Great day for team O'Hanlon and the Voltron Evo machine!

Pottz just needs to come third to take the championship tomorrow, but it aint over till the rotund woman sings.

Track conditions were about as good as they could be today, with tomorrow being another hot and humid affair. Batteries are at their limits in this weather, but they're only short races. We're getting some throttle interferance from the EMI of the inverter, and it's causing a fault at the middle of turn one. This is an epic regen point, so there are probably some stray signals messing up and causing it to drop out. A 3 second reset is an eternity - Potts might have done a 1:45 had he not faulted on the second lap of race 2. Still, we're far enough out in front :)

Real shame David's Zero has been bricked for some reason :( It won't be ready for tomorrow sadly, but some of the best minds of this forum have been helping out ;)

Stay cool!

Race 3 just finished with Voltron Evo again on top and lap times are really dropping! New lap record dropped another 3 seconds for electric motorbikes at Sydney Motorsport Park now stands at 1:43.705

Results attached. One more race this afternoon to wrap up the eFXC season!

Right on!! What a rapid advance in electric superbike racing we are seeing in the world today. I think gas bikes have less than 2 years left before all track records are going to start being set by electric vehicles with folks like yourself pushing the limits.

Just got back from the final day of racing. An excellent weekend for the Voltron Evo machine which has gone from strength to strength in lap times and retains the electric motorbike lap record for Sydney Motorsports Park racetrack.

Here's Voltron Evo's fastest laps from qualifying through to the last race of the Sydney round:
QF 1:47.423
R1 1:46.568
R2 1:47.481
R3 1:43.705 239 kph top speed
R4 1.42.801 249 kph top speed

For comparison, here's the fastest laps by any rider of the next 2 petrol bike categories were:
Current lap record for FX300 class 1:48.460
Current lap record for Supersport (600cc) class 1:32.727

Great to see a full row of electric bikes race finally & a real treat to spend time with Chris & his team!
