SoCal Motor Bicycle Racing 2012 Schedule.

First 2012 SoCal Motor Bicycle Race on Sat April 7th back at Grange Motor Circuit.

Second 2012 race on Sat June 2nd

Third 2012 race on August 18th back at Grange Motor Circuit. Maybe we will run the
track in reverse which would be clockwise just to keep everyone on their toes.

There will be a practice run at the end of the Sat April 7th race to try reverse running the track.

Fourth race on October 20th just like we did last year when the weather is just about perfect out in the desert.

It is awesome that you are doing this.
Will the Michelin Gazelle M62 Moped Tire 2.5 X17 tire be allowed?
In one of the other threads you said you were going to put a motor diamater limit, but I do not see that here. Will there be a limit on motor size?

I'm planning to attend. Hope I can borrow some leathers again to minimize my crash injuries... I will most likely crash again unless I learn to back off my agessiveness. Had a blast last time and a much better bike for this time.

Great to hear that you are coming. I know that it is a long way and
a lot of gas. Is Aiden piloting your bike again?

Yes, we are using the same numbers. I will put a roll call up soon.

MotorBicycleRacing,

Curse you (in the most loving way) for creating another form of motor sport causing me to empty my wallet into yet more crazy projects! At least blowing up something on a gas or ebike is cheaper than dealing with racing cars  Thanks a ton for putting the effort into making these races happen, I know it's a lot of work.

I don't know how often you hear it but it's probably not often enough so I'll do it right here.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR DOING THIS! it's much appreciated.

Check out this You Tube video of Dave Rust's Rocket Car....
Zero to 60 mph in One Second.

http://youtu.be/aO9DjjOzi2E

the info on the U Tube video which says 6 seconds is incorrect.
The video only shows a partially powered launch due to the cul-de-sac
"drag strip." :D

Dave is going to run the Rocket at one of the Grange races as an
exhibition dragster down the front straight during the lunch break.

Dave Rust's brother Jim rode the #5 66 cc China 2 stroke to 2nd at
the last Oct 22nd Grange race right behind 1st place winner magrider.

Arrow Motorized Cycles is casting some very cool #1 plaques for the winners
at the next SoCal Motor Bicycle Race on Sat April 7th

http://www.arrowmotorizedcycles.com/about-us.html

I went over to Dave's place on friday and rode a couple of
his reed valved motorized cycles. They haul butt up hills! :D
and they rev out. I was going 38 mph on a 44 tooth sprocket.
I will post some pics up soon.

Dave casts his own aluminum reed valve cages out of high $$$$
drag boat pistons and connecting rods from blown and "old" motors.

Here is a pic of the drag boat that Dave was the crew chief on.
He has helped destroy millions of dollars worth of drag motors!!! :D
I don't know why he is fooling around with these crappy chinese
motors but he says he is having too much fun. :)

The man is a mechanical genius, his full suspension motored bike is
really cool.

I'm sorry, but this question has only one answer and any motorized vehicle (gas/electric/mice on steroids in a wheel) enthusiast automatically knows the answer... Because Race Car!

For reference
http://becauseracecar.org/

Once it's in your blood you are helpless. Seriously, search for every thread I posted that started in January of 2011, look at how sensible I was about my goals... now look at me.. you know why... because Race Bike! My downfall took a little longer than I expected, but I knew it would happen, it just happened to be with electric power this time instead of gas power which is what I'm normally doubling or tripling the power on. Then I saw electric motors and how stupidly easy it was to just turn a knob and double to quadruple your power output. It's like a boost controller on a turbo setup, you will constantly turn that knob for more power until you break something, then you'll rebuild it even stronger so you can twist the knob even further... why... because race car!

Many of us are consumed and lost causes, just look at Luke. If I had the same ability as him to create that monster he did I'd do the same. It has no purpose other then ones own personal amusement and laying the smack down on everyone and everything that lines up next to you and you know why? Because race bike!

I don't know what Thud is bringing to the table, And I NEVER discount Luke's efforts, but if he can keep that motor alive long enough, Farfle might just be the guy to beat!

I think Zombiess will be bringing one of his cro motors so he should be fast too.

I'll be setting up E-tard with some Thud "factory" parts very soon....he will have to represent till i can finish triming the next 20# off my backside & get my finaces in order.....

(still budgeting for a run at the 2013 AHRMA east series on the 74 hondas)
