Please bare with me I'm new to all this, I have just converted my power chair to LiFe cells and I'm now looking at my much loved and underused trike.
Can anyone tell me about cyclone kit (http://www.cyclone-tw.com/order-double.htm) from their experience with it as the duel freewheel options would work well for my bike I think.
Can I mix and match controlers and motors?
They give next to no information on ther Kelly controler. I'm not impressed with this
I'm after a dual system as from time to time I need a big boost to get going but mostly just want to cruise along on the flat bits under my own steam so i don't want power all the time but i need it for hills and keeping up on club runs.
Hills we are talking huge thing Alps expedition kit for crossing Europe all of it! Solo + wheelchair and dog on a 48lbs bike unloaded me I'm small about 130lbs. May dog is not 78lbs+ but he only needs a ride down hill he can keep up with my touring pace for 4+hrs a day.
So I ask for your experience and guidance on how to best covert my Trike on a tight but flexible budget. I ride alternate days and use folding solar for charging.
So help :D please

Hard to tell what is best for your if we can't see a pic of your bike. What does it look like? I only rode a disabled rider on a tadpole trike once.. it had an Internal geared hub on a jackshaft and a differential drive on the rear axle.

Front motor could as well be an option.. depends on which hills you wanna climb.

Literally the Alps, I have 27s and custom cranks that i don't want to mess with
Not mine but gives you the idea http://medame.net/Recumbent-Gallery.php?pageType=image&currDir=.&image=Optima_Rider_Trike.jpg&startFrom=2
This one shows the load they carry nicely http://www.cb1.com/~john/Exercise/recumbent.html
I.have disc brakes and low bars along with the triple chain set this is mine before I restored her http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.ihpva.org/projects/tstrike/building/achterk.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.ihpva.org/projects/tstrike/building/2into1.htm&h=724&w=484&tbnid=y8HfdEXOcWYhHM:&zoom=1&q=optima+rider+trike&docid=1P177hY18aJJhM&ei=85lZU7CYKanT7Abt3YGgCg&tbm=isch&client=ms-android-htc-rev&ved=0CGIQMygOMA4

Hope this helps some I can post picks of her now next week

you move the pedals with your arms? or is there some special actuator like i saw on some other disabled bikes.

Ok no gear hub. Depending on your exact setup I would decide on either Bafang BBS, Cyclone or GNG. GNG V2 can be customized best ÍMO, since it is small and narrow+ you can mount it easily+it is not as load as a cyclone

No sorry I use my legs when fit I can put out a steady 150 watts max at about 270 just enough to get up the hill home in granny ring and 28t cog on the back @ 2 mph or less not good enough as I'm surrounded by 2-4 mile climbs most of which have 1:4 sections in them I live at the top. So i can only get up the shallowest hill to get home and even this causes me pain in my damaged pelvis. But cycling is good for my legs and makes me happy so i do not wish to stop I do have one of these

It's a hand bike and It dose not make me grin from ear to ear like the Trike dose, it can't go off road it can even clear a speed bump and i can't get up same shallow hill in and out of the village.
I alternate riding the hand bike,Trike and my racing wheelchair I'm training for a marathon in the race chair and need to do lots of cardio workouts that don't stress my arms and shoulders. To lose the pies I have put around my hips so that I can fit ne my race chair again after having been band form exercise for a year waiting for surgery I'm now as fixed as i can get. So its time to service the bikes and get them rolling again.
On my bucket list is riding form Portugal to Norway the hand bike could never make this trip but my Trike was made for crossing the globe. All I need is some power assistance finish my new trailer and we are off I have hand bike buddy's joining my on different legs of the trip. Power assist for them is easy hub motor on 4th wheel pushing in to a frame adaption that give a rack above it

I am looking at this kit but only want the controler where can I get a duel/ pedelec controler on its own?
looks like it will be the 500w cyclone duel freewheel motor

i can tell you . it will work. some one in here has told me, goldenmotor controller mix with cyclone and it run well. as for me myself. i use a cyclone motor x mix with huatong 48v 2000w. ok. it run well. i have also tested with greentime controller.48v ??w and it run well. how you must know how to find out the hall senors to the right combination.
