MAnitoba has a bunch of hydro dams, its like quebec without all the bikers. here we got lots of natives.

Residential is 6.7c kwh, down to 2.3c/kwh if your bigtime :D :D :D :D

And its ALL clean power. We have one natural gas generation plant for backup and one coal plant that is basically mothballed now. So when im dream-e-riding out here its NO BURN. so pretty much all i do is ride ride ride

ohyah...... 5500 megawatts of clean hydro thats enough to go back in time eh Doc??????

Ouch ! They're making you guys pay for that giant dam over too short a time period. I thought Brazil was a net exporter of energy due to the offshore oil PetroBraz is producing.

Brazil has so many resources like oil, water, soil, etc, etc

10 biggest power plants in Brazil

Usina Hidrelétrica de Itaipu - Rio Paraná, 14.000 MW - Paraná
Usina Hidrelétrica de Belo Monte - Rio Xingu, 11.233 MW - Pará
Usina Hidrelétrica São Luiz do Tapajós - Rio Tapajós, 8.381 MW - Pará
Usina Hidrelétrica de Tucuruí - Rio Tocantins, 8.370 MW - Pará
Usina Hidrelétrica de Jirau - Rio Madeira, 3.450 MW - Rondônia
Usina Hidrelétrica de Ilha Solteira - Rio Paraná, 3.444 MW - São Paulo e Mato Grosso do Sul
Usina Hidrelétrica de Xingó - Rio São Francisco, 3.162 MW - Alagoas e Sergipe
Usina Hidrelétrica Santo Antônio - Rio Madeira, 3.150 MW - Rondônia
Usina Hidrelétrica Paulo Afonso IV - Rio São Francisco, 2.462 MW - Bahia
Usina Hidrelétrica Jatobá - Rio Tapajós, 2.338 MW - Pará

It very unlikely we are running out of power or importing it.
Unfortunately there is alot of gangsters in charge.

Im using the current throttle now a I was unable to find why its acting up.
At the beginning is smooth and feeds power slowly and its also smooth when I WOT but the middle throttle is bugged somehow.
It just keeps cutting the power and right after dumps 3kw, and it does that very fast untill i leave that middle throttle rotation area.
Any hints?

One minute cromotor action.
Could climb it faster if the motor was not already hot from the rest of the ride. I dont know the grades but it very steep and my beloved cromotor keep pulling like a train.

Accel test, but the moto rider did not WOT -.-

Ventilate that puppy and end the heat anxiety. You're probably waiting to hear good results with oil and a DD, aren't you? Hint, MWKeefer did it years ago and only uses oil in his geared hubbies. Plus they still have to figure out the oil leakage issue. Oil cooled motors will come, but they'll be designed specifically for it.

Not really John.. i gave up on oil cooling a while ago. Plan to do the ventilation after having Farfle extended swing arm at hand.

Ok, I was choosing the ultimate test for my motor when I get it drilled and fitted in the extended frame.
Looks like I have a winner...
8.5km with 700-800m elevation and according to ebikes.ca simulator I ll have enough juice to climb it!

There must be some trails that would make the ride shorter.

Spoken as one of those guys who has the equipment and skills to just point his bike down the steepest terrain he can find and go for it, and he who uses his brakes the least wins. It's gotta be a blast. I can't wait till batteries come around enough that you guys can just power right back to the top and do it again.

Gensem,

That route looks like a great Cromotor test. Just make sure you're running a low enough voltage that you can maintain something close to half of top speed. Otherwise current limiting puts your controller at high risk under those loads due to phase current multiplication. Take it from someone who's blown plenty of controllers, mostly on hills.

I also lack the skills and already too many broken bones in the past to do it now that im over 30y.
This ll take sometime to accomplished, but I ll be running a 24fet controller instead of the 18fet one and the current should be enough to keep me over 60km/h (my top is 72-75km), was thinking about 24s lipo 80-90a battery current. There are a couple of curves that ll slow me down and thats it.

Easy ah?

Balls are not lost with age, they only get a longer suspension travel.
I'm over 60 and still freeride, only I have lost the illusion that I could be a champ, and now can do it for pure fun.

I'm looking forward to see your climbing results, my Cro-motor is still waiting in a corner and now has a 5404 for companion.

That's the best pep talk I've had to stop putting off getting and staying shape to enjoy all my bikes much more with a 20-30% increase in power to weight ratio.

MadRhino wrote:.... my Cro-motor is still waiting in a corner and now has a 5404 for companion.

You can admit it, they're hiding in that corner after they heard an upgraded Hubmonster (8ga from the windings and ventilated even though it's never been warm) is getting relaunched...stator width of the Cromotor, diameter of the Magpie, 1.5 turn wind with a 25% gear reduction compared to a 26". Oh, and a controller that pushed 300A battery side through a 5303, which should have no problem with 200-250A since I'm putting in much better fans than Steveo installed. 8)

Have a great Easter!

Nice videos. You're a hell of a lot braver than I am, but I suppose when I clothes lined myself on an unseen rope going 45kmh that put a little perspective into my brain. Good luck and always make sure your brakes are in prime condition!

I was really cruising, I don't WOT all the time because it drags too much attention.
I had fresh batteries so I guess I was doing 35-40mph when I was in the right lane, and pretty close to 50mph when I did the left overtake.
Its stable even with the crap fork and rear shock im using.
I think I ll have to cross the 100v barrier when I receive the extended frame from Farfle.

You're going to love having an extended frame, though on those I've lengthened I also moved the seat lower and rearward before it felt right to me.
