Hello,

I sworn not to buy anymore bikes... but somehow I can't keep looking at them...

I found some old bike I was thinking could be great conversion candidate for high capacity bike.

This one seems to have a massive battery capacity and ability to take a passenger on the rear?

However it does seem that there isn't any suspension and no way to add any? No potential for this bike?

This one does almost look nice but a bit DIY:

The battery looks dodgy however..

This one has been favourited by many ES member:

Anyone knows if the enclosure would accept 150 * 18650 cells?

What do you think of these candidates? Any of these good for huge removable and lockable battery bike?

You can add a front suspension.
Measure the tube size of your front fork and get a front fork that has the same size tube.
Check if this fits eg: http://en.hollandbikeshop.com/bicyc...16-inch/alpina-suspension-fork-16-inch-black/

You could also doing something very simple that smoothly works, change the tires with fat-look wide tires as these ones eg:. You know, just low pressure "checking that a pothole won't make your rim hit the ground"

Or combine the two things in this way: Front suspension fork and medium-high pressure and Rear low pressure

Moped are too heavy and difficult to repair and carry....

Nobuo, wouldn't adding a fork change significantly the bike geometry? it doesn't look like the bike was made for fork. And fat tyres are definitely not enough for london potholes..

It is enough long to be not significant. But it depends on how its made. The tube, although it doesn't look straight, it should be. maybe you would have a slightly shorter bike, a little taller from the front? I don't think it would change so far.

There are not other reliable way to add a functionally suspension. Is front fork or anything else. Don't even think on a seat suspension, that is only comfort effect

make measurements, to add a front fork will be possible always, and that will change front and rear touch on the ground broadly

I've ended up like this when I tried to upgrade suspension to my dahon jetstream:

You can see how geometry is wrong... I had to sell (at loss) the fork because it was too dangerous.

I don't want the same thing to happen if I get another bike..
