Ebike Insurance. Ebikes aren't cheap, replacing my bike would cost about 3000 bucks. Home owner's insurance probably doesn't cover ebikes. Anyone buy Ebike insurance? Any suggestions and reviews? Thanks.

Here in the UK it costs about 6-8% of the value of the bike per annum, through a specialist insurer, however, sometimes ebikers on the UK pedelecs webforum have indeed got an extension to their home insurance to cover the ebike out and about, for very little like $20US. However. Those policies will have more exclusions -so if you can learn what they are before you buy,and keep within them, then it could be great value.

Often home insurance will require you to declare higher value items anyway (up to a per item limit) so it's worth checking that your policy actually covers you just in your home ;) My mother failed to do this and lost out after a jewellery theft.

If you search the forum for "insurance" you'll find several discussions with info for you.

If you search only by thread/topic title you'll get less results, but may miss some info not in threads titled as such.

Nationwide!! I stopped by my local Nationwide Insurance office this morning and YES they cover Ebikes. Their Motorcycle policies have a separate category for "Electric Bikes". I supplied the make, model, serial number, battery voltage, and watts. For $187/year I'm covered for replacement and liability. Yeah, maybe insurance is overkill but I log in over 3000 miles a season and in our litigious country it never hurts to have protection.

Did you read the document and you know for a plain and simple fact that the insurance policy(s) you bought would have absolved all expenses incurred to you through normal usage of your electrically operated vehicle with two wheels? If so, this great for you. Please share the wealth! Most of my insurance attempts have gone to some guy who hasn't a clue what he is trying to sell me when I really boil down the meaning of the words I am buying from a large company that doesn't want to pay me.
