I thought the JST plugs were keyed to prevent reverse insertion, or am I mistaken?

last week i plugged JST plugs backwards and smoked my balance leads completely.
I was just tired and almost done with building a pack. One moment of carelessness is enough...

Yes it is possible to insert them reversed if you are not careful.

mine are. They have 2 notches on the top of each JST so you cannot plug them in up-side-down. The male notch must slide into the female knotch or it simply wont plug in. I have gotten very small sparks before from my balance plugs, however. This is usually when i kinda slide the plug sideways wile plugging it in. i assume some pins that shouldnt touch are touching for a split second. Happened about 5 times now on about 50 charges. no damage in any way. spark is very very tiny.

Just want to to say "Two Thumbs Up"" for Ice cube and his custom harnesses! He puts out a great product and is very passionate about his work and quality of his harnesses. Don't think twice about purchasing products from him. His advice and support is fantastic, as I plan to do more business with him. "Thanks"

Yup, I was gonna say you can plug them in backwards partially. Probably just enough to destroy something, or stain your underpants permanently! Can't wait to order my 4s5p harness for 50 amps. My eyes are bigger than my wallet!

All I can say is I am very happy with the service and use my well made Harnesses every day.

I'm sure I could do it myself , but until I made 10 or more they are would all look like solder city and probably
melt when I up the amps.

Look forward to my next order.

I've been getting good crimps on the crimp sleeves just using a cheap crimper. The first crimp makes the sleeve into a deep V shape, then the second one folds further closing the V shape super tight. I've been just doing two into one crimps though.
THE LIPO RULES. NEVER ABOVE 4.3V NEVER BELOW 2.7V DON'T PUNCTURE

Ideal charging /discharging range for Lipo, 3.65v minimum 4.1v maximum

See battery technology section, FAQ thread at the top of the page for lipo noob info.

While I am sure i could produce a harness that would do the job, I'd much rather have the job done by someone who knows what they're doing, and can solder worth a damn. Looking at dogmans review and your vids, your product is easily worth the money. As soon as I need it for my trike, you'll have my business.

Keep up the good work mate,
Alex

So as I have ebike issues every payday I make sure to order additional lipo to increase my ah as I just can not seem to get enough.

I ordered a larger harness from icecube and WOW he is sure making these things pretty.

I am now going to send back my original so I can have it upgraded into something substantially larger.

Thanks for including the extra anderson connectors along with all the spare parts - they do come in handy.

Keep up the good work I don't think I will be happy until I have a few harnesses for different types of applications.

Attached is my v1 which is 48v 10ah along with v2 is 48v 15a.

Thanks Again m8
