@Doctorbass- Which controller recommend for 5403 and 5404 and Edward Lyen recommended me run at 24 fets controller to avoid over stress on the controller like 5303 tend blow up the controller easily.

re the wires, i am thinking to not only ask about 10awg wire but also upgrade of hall sensors based on Lowracer experience:

I dont know what of those things Kenny will agree to upgrade, but one sure thing - i will push hard for those changes. No point to get motors that will stop running after short period of time. little problem for experienced people who can fix it / upgrade it. But like me, i cant do it so i want it right in first place.

Will see where i go with it. But again, our power lies in good amount of orders, so please keep coming

I dont understand why people have so many problem with teh hall sensor... generally it's the wiring that melt because it's not rated more than 105 celsius... my 5303 had over 250 celsius o the winding and the hall remain ok... ( but i had replaced the wire with teflon skin wire)

Can we get some more info on stretching 135mm cromoly dropouts to 150 and/or modding the axel to 135? Is the axel mod something I could get a local machine shop to do for ~$50? I'm considering stretching out a Yuba Mundo to 150mm.

YEP, that's right!
If a hall sensor doesn't work, you can feel that, then the motor don't run!

All in one, this motor is a masterpiece, high torque without gearboxes.
I've got ridden it now more than 3500Km. Excellent!

I do not know why, but my motor came with what I thought was 10 gauge as standard, but maybe it was 11
.I got my 5304 from Maxwell65 and he says he did not ask for thicker gauge wire, that is just how they cam.

Kenny supplied me with more of the same wire, and I only just installed it back on my motor.
I did not like the idea of having a big plug of andersons on the outside of the frame, no matter how easy it makes the wheel removal.

I have fitted wire in one length direct to the controller, so I have only one connector neat the controller.

Yes, OK, there is the argument that you take a bigger wire from motor to controler to reduce voltage drop along a lenght of wire, but I am of the opinion that I will probably get less voltage drop with a single length and one junction from a single connection, than having two connections and a 2 ft length of thicker wire.

So 4mm2 is closer to 11 gauge than 10 gauge, but I am not sure if you would get 10 gauge to fit...it may be just a little to tight

But what ever Kenny calls it, and the size he specs at 4mm2. I know it is as thick as this stuff in 10 Gauge, if not a fraction thicker, as I had some of this on the bike till the 'correct' stuff arrived last week

Lastly question, Should we trust Kenny again what he had done to the HS35 phase wiring (Bad quality control) and
I am afraid putting trust in Kenny what he took advantage our money and threw us bunch of piece of junk HS3540 motors.

Kenny is the one misinformed or lied us when I purchased 1st batch HS35 with the 35mm stator from Methods and ES discovered it was 30mm stator with the sensor installed. WTF

I wanted get 2 motors 5403 and 5404 as long as it's gonna best quality control and honest spec then I'm going for it.

the difference here is, 5404 motors are not new. They have been made for a while. Always with sensors. So the design is developed. We know the design. Lowracer seems to be happy with his. And apparently 5403 is used by stealth bomber:

The cruel reality - Kenny won't start the production untill money is there. I doubt he make 1 sample for us to test before commiting to buy. [although i could try to ask for that]

He was asked about xlyte 5404 few times but was constantly refusing making them.

I made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

I tottaly understand your point. And i don't know the answer. All i want to do is to push for even better quality than what lowracer got.
We have no control over what he will come up with this time. What he will send it this time if we go ahead with the order.

Proceed with caution boys... understand what you are getting into. I dont want to rain on your parade, but those of you who have been around here a while know that I have landed a lot of small shipments like this and it can be a real gamble. Here are a few things I have learned

* Don't underestimate shipping and duties. This order is too big to get marked as a sample so you will be assessed duties by the importer. Likely 4%.

* Realize that you are the smallest fish in the barrel - every other customer will get served first. Double here - because not only is this a tiny order but it is also one-off. Kenny is SLAMMED right now. Expect delays - MAJOR delays. If you pay your money up front you need to understand that this could take months. Minimum order is typically 100pcs, and 50pcs when Kenny is "hungry".

* You get what you get. There are no returns, no "take backs", and no warranties in China. If something gets screwed up that is it... and it happens. Kenny is WAY better than most (like 9C) but some times even when the communication seems crystal clear some detail gets left out. That is just the name of the game when you roll the dice in China

* wojtek is putting his b*lls out on the chopping block here... if this deal goes south you guys will hold him responsible. It should be well understood that each buyer in a group buy like this carries his/her own risk. wojtek may choose to eat this loss if things go wrong, but 30 x $200 = $6k Can you afford to lose $6k?

As a disclaimer to those who dont know me - I sell stuff here so there is a bit of a conflict of interest. Those who know me know that I am speaking in the members interest. Deals that go bad tear our community apart.

By all means - do this. Just please, realize the risks involved and mitigate them.

* I doubt Kenny will ship all of these individually - that is a huge hassle for him. It is much more likely that he will want to ship one or two large orders that will then be distributed. Shipping in the US for heavy items should be done with a UPS Dealer account. Expect to pay about $25 for domestic. USPS gets expensive for packages over 10lbs - so forget that.

* Duties can be avoided with the proper harmonized code. There is a specific code for >749W motors that are the sole propulsion devices for electric vehicles. This will put you in the 0% tax bracket

* If you guys are going to place an order you might as well go big.... The cost is in the shipping so pack as many controllers etc in there as you can. Sell them to help offset the shipping costs.... but remember that they dont fall under the 0% duties

* Dont forget about the VAT.

Just to clarify 2 things:

2. I am ONLY organizing the buy. I am not making any money on it, I DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY RELATED TO THIS GROUP BUY. I dont even need one as i have already in my garage. It is only a favour i do to Doc and other members that are hungry for this motor.

I absolutely want at least one of these motors. At $300 shipped, I probably will need 3. I don't know if I can convince my two e-bike friends to get rid of the GM if they're $400, and $500 will not happen.
The lowest speed sensored motor available please. I'd prefer if the bike only did 50, which is hard to do when you run 36S.

I'm interested in getting one for myself, so long as shipping is <$100.

I also want to agree with Methods. Being I also have a conflict of interest I refrained from saying anything. The value in buying from Methods or Justin is they take the grief when things go bad, and they do. For instance I got a batch of motors and when I say a batch I mean a container of motor in which the wrong epoxy was used EnerTrac reglued all the magnets in the complete shipment and it turns out I wasn't the only vendor who got burned with bad epoxy.

I am personally in debt thousands of dollars over an entire container that was screwed up as well.
I know a vendor who has had to make multiple trips to China to get manufacturers to actually deliver on very high dollar orders

Shit really does happen. The risk is VERY real.

The prices on ebikes.ca are a little higher and there is a very good reason. Justin has probably eaten more dead batteries, fubar controllers, and problem motors than you would ever believe. Tens of thousands of dollars. The customer support is very expensive as well.

Risk must be calculated into the equation... It took me a long time to learn that. I certainly have "paid for my education".

but is that risk higher from the order of the store or seller we already got our motor from??

because if it's the same risk i guess it's not too bad... otherwise store like grind technology , etc would have all canceled their motor order...
