E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Advice to all Stealth owners in Europe/wet countries:

I would really advise that you crack open your hub motors on an annual basis and inspect the rotor magnets.
Make sure that there is no rust and that the magnets are epoxied in to the rotor firmly.
A coating of Glyptal 1201 paint is the ultimate waterproofing for the interior parts of your motor - this is THE best and ONLY specialist high-temperature electric motor paint.
Drill some holes in the outer parts of the hub casing to let water out.

Any high temperature paint is fine. Ebikes.ca uses T9 . I have used PCB clearcoat even though its not high temp, smells funk when its hot for a month or so but its fine up to 120 or so.
Next time I'll use a flat black engine paint

Flat black transfer heat quickest. Absorbsion and emission, due to the temperature difference being - hot stator, cooler air, heat will transfer from stator quicker than with other paint. BBQ paint may be a better salternative. Should be similar.

Exactly right. I've successfully used this paint before.

Only catch is you can no longer see if your winding color, but with adequate cooling that shouldn't matter. :)

@Allex; At about 17AH the power is automaticly turned down so I get about 2000W until the BMS cuts out. I think the range should be a little bit better with mixed driving than 39´But maybe this is normal. At least it is working good at the current settings.

Would you guys recommend a standard MTB DH full face helmet or a motocross helmet? I'm wearing a DH helmet now and considering Troy Lee D3 Carbon or Kali Avatar 2 Carbon. Been doing a lot of mileage everyday and at least once a day there is a scary situation with a car.Avg speed 45 to 60 km, sub 40s in slower parts of the city.

So I got sick of crap being flung into my swing arm linkage/bearings, front chain ring, and rear shock mount from my rear tire. My mudguard is great and catches most crud, but it stops short of the swing-arm, so a lot still makes it's way into the gap.

Solution...an ice cream container lid spray painted black. I cut it up to the right size/shape, then hot glued it to the shock mount.

It's not the most elegant solution and I'm not sure the hot glue will hold forever, but it's been working great for the last few weeks and I'm so glad I don't have to pick crud out of that area any more.

Cheers

I bought this Origin8 Classic Lite Saddle. It's actually a cheap copy of an expensive Regal, and looks pretty good on a Bomber. I was planning to try it out, to find out if a Regal would be worth it, but it's so comfortable I decided who needs a Regal. Compared to the stock ass hatchet, this is a huge improvement, and for only $20.

Hey guys, I bought an 18 FET controller for my cromotor ebomber project. I actually bought 2. I was wondering can I use my extra one to get more performance out of the stock battery?

Also, I remember reading that someone was able to order just a bomber frame. Is that true?

No, Stealth doesn't do that, except for maybe to in-house employees, and that's just my speculation. There were probably a couple of exceptions to this a few years back, but its not a common practice for Stealth's to sell a frame only. So, are you going to tell us about your cromotor Ebomber project?

Anyone know where I can get financing for one in USA???...

Welcome to the thread. If there is a financial institution or bank that will finance a Stealth bike, Darin or Michael at US Stealth will know. There contact info is on the US Stealth Website.

Last September I was asking this same question, so I went to my bank and ask a loan officer. Actually the conversation went something like this.

Me: what's the easiest way for me to get $10,000 that my wife won't know about?

Loan officer: Open a new 15 month zero interest credit card, and go paperless.

So that's what I did.

Ah that's funny Theodore V.

Well I nearly freaked out when my bomber fell over while I was looking for my charger. The crank bent to the point of being unrideable. Tge guys at the bike shop bent it back but ordered me an extra set from Suntour since the crank is specific to the gear box. Also I didn’t know they were meant to bend since it puts less stress on the gear box. Hey guys, I really like the raptor frame. I will miss the vboxx but I'm thinking I will just make this raptor a fixed gear. So:

Raptor frame
Single speed
Regen only, no rear brake
Marz c2r2
Lyen 18 FET beefed up
Cromotor V2
LiPos 125v @ 60a
Formula R0 on a 203mm front
17" 1.4 rear moto rim like Rix
MTBR front wheel

Im going to start shopping for batteries. I'm not really keen on doing all the battery balancing for LiPos. I wouldnt mind some input to help me decide. If money were no object, what battery pack would you get? Is there a way to modulate regen or increase it so it will be a better rear brake? Should I mod the cromotor? I read where some guys remove about 2 pounds out of it.

Thanks!

Longshot, lets get you over to the ES Raptor thread and post your Qs so we can get to talking shop on your up and coming build. I don't know how to do a thread link, but its called "Qulbix, was Torque Raptor ebike + frame kit". I have been guilty of thread jacking the past and don't want to do it again.
