It looks like a bigger front disc then standard is used in conjunction with Marzocchi fork.

Welcome to this thread and congratulations on picking up the SA Stealth agency.
Nice bike. Love the new up spec tripple crown forks. Forks even have the correct name for the bike 8)

Nicely detailed bike but not to sure on the flashlight style headlight. Kind of looks a bit out of place to me. Just my opinion though :)

Hi Kepler, THANKS, THANKS & THANKS. The Marzocchi forks are awesome. John sent me some "old stock" raised bomber lettering (which I then painted). The new stock has plain stickers only. I have only had it filthy once but I like to keep it clean for demo's
The flashlight does stick out a little but I think it suits the bike and is hell bright.
cheers

Cool, they'd probably be good for hub motors in general, with the appropriate adaptor the caliper should just clear edge of the motor case, which would do away with the caliper clearance issues that many motors have

Yes, a thin green thread locker should be on them. It's a wicking & does not make a permanent bond, some formulas do.

We use it on our eZee motors but perhaps your higher temps & more rapid heat cycling isn't helping. The factory thread lock is whiteish and thick/waxy.

Maybe try a high temp locktite like this:
http://www.loctite.com.au/cps/rde/xchg/henkel_aue/hs.xsl/3423_AUS_HTML.htm?iname=Loctite+%25C2%25AE+272%25E2%2584%25A2+Threadlocker&countryCode=aue&BU=industrial&parentredDotUID=productfinder&redDotUID=10000009QUG

Thanks Voicecoils. Sorry should never have doubted you.

I redid them with some standard red locktight from bunnings, we'll see how that holds.

This morning on my commute I tried locking out the front and rear shocks when going up hills. Saved about 1.5AH over the course of the ride.
Didn't realize having a saggy butt made such a difference.

QMS, nice ride there mate. Sure you'll only be using it as a 'Demo'? Looks like a keeper to me.

I don't use any locktite on mine but i do use a flat washer followed by a spring washer and then a Nyloc nut all torqued up nice and tight. I have 2kW of regen at times with no problem of things coming loose. Only problem with high strength locktite is that you might have trouble getting it apart again, should be OK though.

Hi cowardlyduck. thanks. I know there are more powerful units ! But i thought $129 was pretty good for 750 lumens plus i thought the mini gun style realy suited the bomber

Hi All
I am new here and are working my way thought the 92 pages of posts. Trying to get me self up to speed before I take delivery of my New Bomber next week! Very excited!
Have been spending way to long on the net looking for accessories. After much deliberation I just ordered online the Magicshine MJ-856 Flood Mountain Bike Light. I hope it will shine out far enough.
http://magicshineledlights.com.au/index.php?route=product/product&path=20_60&product_id=52
The guy from Magicshine rang 5 minutes after I ordered to clarify my address, very helpful.

This is my first EV and I have about 50 questions for the group but will work on that later.
Cheers All

woot another south aussie. in a week its gone from 1-2 to 5 or more.
its going to be a sad day if we ever get together for a group ride... my homegrown ht+norko vs bombers, which seem popular here for some reason. I'll be feeling like a guy in a biker gang who's riding a scooter... ah well... still be fun.

where bouts in sa are you? in town or rural?

I am now back from a weeks holiday and I took the Bomber with me (whizz kid came down for a few days and brought his Fighter)

My Bomber saw its first big "off" but only has a few battle scars to prove it and I will remedy soon.

The mud was thick! We got some good pics and I am sure he will post up soon. I think these will go on our new website (soon to be launched....come on whizz kid!)

I'm in the Riverland Where there is loads of three corner jacks and Cowtrop. (I think the Vic’s call it devils head or is that the Queenslanders.) I asked John about a tubeless set up but he wasn't confident that it would work with the rim (some think about a 11mm slot machined in the rim for the oversized spokes).
So have some brown Mr tuffys comming which are for 26 X 1.95-2.35, 2.5" tyres to start me off. once I get the bike I will look at tubless again. Does anybody have a good solution for thorn proofing the 3" tyres?
I do plan to do some rides in Adelaide with the kids.

I presume you mean 24" not 26"

Shoot a PM to Paul_G. He has done a lot work on making his Bomber as puncture proof as possible.

Acc to Stan it will work. Don't remove the existing rim tape. Get the Downhill Rim Strip or the kit and follow the instructions

It can get messy

Thanks for the links. John said the internal rim size is 39mm. What brand and the rims on the bomber? I might contact Stan and get a recommendation for a setup as on the web site it mentions to "call us and ask for our widest rim strips". not sure if this is wider than the standard down hill ones at 52"x38mm. Where do you get Stan's Notubes gear from?

Hi Keler the tuffys come in 26" you just cut them down. cant find Paul_G but when I do I will ask him.

So I'm looking to start buying my parts for my derailleur setup for my Fighter, and I just wanted to run it buy everyone.

I'm going to get the 11-32T 7speed freewheel from Ebikes.ca
Image
http://ebikes.ca/store/store_nc.php

And pair it with either a SRAM X3 or X4. Anyone know what the difference is?
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=41156
Image
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=30631
Image

Should I be getting long or medium (or even short) cage?

Now, the shifter is the tricky part. I don't really like grip shifters, and was hoping to get a quick shifter like this.
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=41153
Image
However they only mount on the right side of the handle bars. Does anyone know of any similar shifters that can be mounted on the left hand side of the handlebars?

Also, do shifters normally come with the cable?

Cheers

I tried to put a 7 speed on a mates Fighter without a derailleur to use the 11 tooth for better high speed cadence. The 7 speed fitted OK but the chain angle caused it to bind against the next gear up. Hopefully the derailleur will take car of that. I presume a 5 speed cluster with an 11 tooth isn't available. If it was, this might be worth considering just in case the chain angle is too much.

In relation to shifters, perhaps a twist grip shifter might be the go. This can be mount on the left grip.http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=5723

Maybe a couple of gears can just be removed if it becomes a problem. Is that easy enough to do?

Dam, think you might be right Kepler. Searching searching searching, I can't find left hand quick/rapid rear shifters anywhere.
What about just installing next to the throttle? Bad idea?

What about bar end shifters?

Hmmm, I really wanna order the stuff soon, but really hadn't thought through my options for shifters that much until now.

Any other different solutions out there?

Cheers
