I'm looking for an e-bike kit for my hp velotechnik scorpion fs. what is the best bottom bracket motor for this build? I read information on Lightning Rods but have not been able to reach him. Thanks.

Why not a simple hub motor? I've got a rear NineContinent from ebikes.ca, on my Actionbent recumbent trike, and I've put over 13,000 quiet happy miles on it with no issues, and can achieve speeds to 30mph with diligent pedalling, if I try.

I have had several rear motors on my Steintrike full suspension and have 2 points I feel are important.
1. Keep the batteries low and centered. Mine are under the seat and the handling is light years ahead of having them on the rear rack.
2. Lighter gear motors make the unsprung weight in the rear much lower, and both the ride and handling are much much better than with my 9C in the rear wheel. Unfortunately gear motors that I have had were a bit fragile.

Trade up maybe? The S-Pedelec Scorpion fs 26:

(500 watt rear wheel hub, 36V 530Wh Li-Ion battery.)
