Whats the best way to make one go faster for $100? $200?

My e-bikekit motorized Tidalforce is almost completely silent in comparison. I'm planning on changing the Curry motor with an e-bikekit in the future.

Upgrading for much money would be stupid though, since you can buy hub kits with sla's pretty cheap.

dogman wrote:I was browsing ebay, and noticed the 36v motors are only about $80. So as far as smoking a motor goes, that's a pretty cheap one.
So that upgrade makes sense.

I think your misinturpeting the idea of upgrading to 36v. By changing a 24v motor with a 36v motor is no real change in torque or speed. The ide is to run a 24v rated motor at 36v therefore, significantly increasing the RPM (speed and torque). of the motor. This does work well and many people have had good long term luck doing this. DrkAngel said is he has 6,000 miles on several bikes. But Drk please clarify ....is that on each bike or cumulative between all the bikes you are speaking of. If I remember correctly that's cumulative between all 3 of your EZips. Correct?

A hub motor would be so much quieter, more efficient, and probably faster per watt than what you have.
Those bikes are also ungodly heavy. Sadly, most of the weight is in the frame on some!!!
My trek 4300 with hub motor + 10ah batteries weighs as much as my currie-mongoose frame without the motor, battery or controller !!
