testing made easy

Postby markcycle » Wed Oct 31, 2007 8:49 pm

I finally came up with a way to test the system under load without riding the bike. I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. Of course you have to be careful not to pinch or otherwise damage the wires. Using the wind trainer worked great. It pulls about 12 amps at 24MPH. I have a better unit but it's on the bike I use for training and didn't want to brake down the setup. The Mag unit I have probably can put a bigger load on the motor

Great minds... my ex has the mag-trainer right now tho. :(

I was trying to also conceive of some useful work that the wheel could do on the stand. It bugs me, using the energy just for the test. But, any work would need to be very consistant. Harrumph. :?
Have a Nice Day,

I've been eyeing these for a while now, trying to find an adjustable one that will take 20" to 700C is not easy...

Does it get " HOT " after a few miles ?

Wouldn't it be great if after exercising the motor it grew stronger? :D

Give the mice (inside the motor) cattle-feed and their quads will get the size of Greg Landis'.
