We're getting the same as we originally set out to get - the upgraded 5400 motor with better halls, phase wires and bearings (you'll have to check back through the thread for the exact specs - I'm pretty sure it was 11ga phase wires, NSK bearings and high temp honeywell halls)

I think we're very close to meeting the MOQ. I think Wojtek lost alot of his buyers so I'm not sure what's happening from the Europe side of things but I still have a good number that are keen and Max does too. In 5 days this order will be finalised so on the 10th we either have enough numbers to proceed or we'll have to give it a miss. We're still waiting to hear back from people to see where we stand with numbers. Kenny said production would take 20 days and then it's another ~6 weeks to get them to us by sea. So we're probably looking at a delivery date in mid January. Originally we were planning to get them just before christmas but that's gone out the window now with all the recent dramas.

Unbelievable europeans bailing out, what are you doing guys, this can't get any better, next time you'l want this motor it's starting price will be 600$ and then shipping.

bailing out of technical reasons is ok, but cos of principle of the way this turned to soap opera, not good idea.

the 5400 model is rare and finding 3 4 winding on the market even rarer, you might as well engrave "ES edition" on them, they're like 404 405 models, you have to pay twice the price IF you find them.

dont be distracted by greyborg motor, they are different, but good to have both of them in your collection not choose only 1 of them, and looks like there'l be more greyborgs soon, 5400 though unknown !

if i'd had any assets i'd get 20 of these, and if i'd had more then 100 motors, 30 fast 70 slower cos there are more relaxed people in the world, but what is 100 motors when there milions of crazy people that'l gladly ride this motor.

Holy mofo what an idiot am i, but i know that you can see it in my profile, i just had an idea, what's the reason some of us dont buy another motor just to complete the minimum order, it's cos we dont see a use for another motor or a brokeass student or just ass broke, so we can all buy the remaining motors on D-day and split the price between us.

how many of us 30? (hope more) How many motors missing 10 tops ? (hope less) the more of us and less missing motors the less burden on each and one of us.

so every 1 who can will add around 50-70$, problem solved.

i can do 80$ i think, it's much less than what we'll have to pay if we'll try buying in the future, and that is IF! we'l get an oportunity like this, cos since i was here 2009 i never witnesed a 5400 oportunity.

Things on the European front look to have gone to shit for a number of reasons but we're hoping to still come up with a solution. Small numbers and high motor export tax mean it's probably not worth doing a sea shipment as air shipping will work out much the same price. Air shipping the motors alone would probably work out the cheapest option but those in Europe can discuss that with Wojtek.
Max is still tallying his numbers but between him and I the estimate is we're around 40. Hopefully it's closer to 45, especially if we can sort out the Europe side.

Scriewy, I don't think buying extra motors and splitting the costs between everyone will work. The best option would be if someone is cashed up and wants to buy a few to put aside, they'd make a good investment to sell later as these motors will be essentially unavailable.
