10" wheels the fold into a rectangular frame
So far I have 64 cells of Headway LiFePO4 38120P (M size) Cell: 3.2V 10 Ah, 100A Surge Rate, 32Wh with 6M screw Terminal. Squeezing around 64-100 headway cells) I arrangement of battery setup is unknown because the motor is unkown.
And i'm trying to get rid of the 5304 Crystalyte and controller 40amp and come up with a Direct Drive to 10" wheels. (Racing go-kart style)
No compromise in the size of the 10" wheel as design meets engineering again in a classic battle.

So much stuff out there that i find my myself drifting off topic and the sea of endless-sphere knowledge that there were the only motors i came up with.
Maximizing Efficiency, Power/Torque, and range(50miles) up speeds up to 45mph. Not to get too granular, but there many variables that determine speed mainly weight, incline, and wind resistance. I want to over engineer to meets the demands of fast acceleration, top speed, and when throttled sparingly or within city limits of 35mph to get the range desired.
I need an expert 2nd opinion on what motor and controller to buy, battery setup, and gearing ration.

American Chopper Senior vs Junior the difference between the two is that senior uses a designer and like what he see on paper first and junior is also a visual designer but uses actual parts like a sculpture to pin down the final design. I'm kinda like junior. I tried putting things on paper and in actuality never turns out right. To me the concept can be better realize with parts at hand. I just started welding 8 months ago and i weld beads like the real deal.
As for that R70 just imagine 5-7 years into the future of what that R70 should look like.

Just to clarify..
By 10" wheels, ..you mean 10" OD of the tire ? . The "wheel" rim itself on a go -kart is 5" diameter.
.but you could have a larger rim with a smaller section tire, still with a 10" OD....is that an option ?

And by "Direct Drive" you are thinking of a motor coupled to the wheel via chain and sprockets ?
( Direct Drive in Ebike terms usually means a motor in the wheel hub )

yes sir....10" OD on the tires and sprockets via chain or belt. I like the Motenergy ME0909 http://www.thunderstruck-ev.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=4 and I think I'll just stay away from Astro. Motenergy uses expensive controller like Alltrax $350-$400 but may be better for wide range tuning. Generally speaking the smaller 10" wheel should get better torque and I need to find the appropriate gear ratio for sprockets.

There is a gear ratio calculator on the Thunderstruck site if you look.
It suggests a 2.5:1 ratio for 45 mph on a 10" wheel and 3800rpm motor speed.

The BMS from batteryspace has these configurations 36v 40amp, 48v 60amp, 72v 100amp. The Motenergy has 48v 100amps continuous. If i parallel 48v 60amp the 48v remains constant and the Ah doubles. Will the amp double as well because the controller is pulling 60amp from each pack that is connected in parallel? I'm aiming maybe 48v 30ah or 40ah(3 or 4 packs 16 cells each and each headway is 10ah @3.2)

hey hillhater the unloaded is 3800rpm and load is 2500rpm would you use the 2500 for the gear calculation instead of 3800? what do you think about this motor on this setup?
