anthony_prodeco wrote:Excuse me sir but you are incorrect. Prodeco does not sell on here period. If dealers post our products, we cannot control this and yes my writing style might be that of Josh Levy's simply because we know how to write without foul and non-constructive language. But this is because we are professionals and have no need to bash people or companies for no reason. I am glad this is a DIY community and I can express that I encourage you to continue to do it yourself. You’re always going to have your opinion of what you think we or others have done. If our product was as bad as you make it out to be, 1000 plus dealers and a few mass merchants along with Mens Fitness Mag would not stand behind our product as it would not benefit them in carrying a product of such poor quality. Let’s not mention just how expensive this item is for them to stock in there stores and for us to build. Why would any dealer want that kind of liability? Of course you will probably say this message is a marketing scheme to inform people where they can purchase our bikes. No Sir it is simply a statement answering your negative post. There is no sense in our company responding to you or Oatnets comments any further. This has been taken to a foolish level and it’s simply not productive in any part. As far as our dealers our concerned, please try not to advertise our products in this or anywhere within endless-sphere. If you are a customer and have positive or negative feedback for our company we would love to hear it and welcome postings on either our Facebook or better your personal wall that way to stop those who accuse us of falsely posting messages with fake names. I do not recommend anyone post about our products here in the near future. If anyone should need assistance or would like to discuss our product line or any of my postings here on endless sphere, I am available and can be reached at any time.
Thank you every one
Have a great day

I don't think banning anyone or deleting posts/threads is going to help. Some (possibly most, or even all) of the people posting are likely just individuals that did indeed purchase or are considering purchasing these bikes, and really are just posting their experiences or questions.

None of the people share IP addresses, or from the little research I had time to do appear to be posting from the same locations/etc. Some do share ISPs, but that is to be expected when major ISPs are used; the IP ranges for them are still not the same.

I agree that we don't want a bunch of posts around the regular forum advertising various products, but this particular thread is in the proper place for such sales/advertising, so I don't see a reason for it to be removed. It might be nice to move all of this discussion out of this thread into it's own, in General Discussion.

I agree with you amberwolf :) We shouldn't be censoring unless someone is being a total spammer.
These products don't fit the character of this forum, but that's not an issue for the moderators.
Thank you for investigating. I for one am glad to have you as a moderator here.

Joseph C: Good catch on the edited post and yes i agree..

Anthony: i am not hating on your products, your company, or you. BUT... what has been going on the forums did fit the profile of guerrila marketing / spamming, which we have dealt with often.. so, apologies for my negative remark about the guerrila marketing, and i'm glad you 'get it' in the instance of the forum's character.

Thanks for the background research amberwolf.

Oatnet, lighten up a little (but only a little). We know the MO, but in this case it seems the guy is legit. Some people might want a 250W bike, in fact there are many reasons why lower power levels may be more appropriate for many riders. Let's not discriminate based on wattage.

Anybody trying to sell stuff: This forum was not created as an advertising platform. It is here for discussion and to advance electric vehicle technology. Facebook and eBay might be better places to try to sell stuff. Some of the members are a bit harsh anytime the truth gets stretched or one of the forum rules appears to be violated. Toes may be stepped on here, that goes with the territory.

To be successful, one must be honest and be willing to take criticism and respond appropriately to it.

Well understood and appreciated. I have sent a message to the site administration to investigate on the accused phony names and postings. Our legal department has also been contacted. Any slander resulting from fraud against Prodeco will be taken seriously. If further assistance is needed I can be contacted directly.
We cannot control other people or dealers actions. If one of our dealers is making phony names posting phony comments we will ban that dealer from purchasing our products.
Prodeco has no further interest in posting in this forum.

Threatening people with legal action because you have abused paragraphs isn't the best way to enamour yourself with members of this site. And for your information it is libel not slander. Three years of studying law indicate to me that you have absolutely no grounds.

Very good. Now please explain to me good sir, without cluttering my PM inbox and sending me private messages, what any of that has to do with me? And please especially explain how pointing out your penchant for long blocks of unreadable text constitutes libel or abusing forum rules.

This should be interesting. I'm all ears.

I talked to Anthony via PM for a bit and he actually seems to be a good guy. I still think we may have jumped the gun on the guerilla marketing conclusion here. Looking at the bikes for sale further ( particularly the phantom X ), these are actually a fairly good value in eBikes, coming easily within the cost of buying an ampedbikes kit, battery, and frame yourself, so i understand why there would be a lot of newbies ( low post count ) would be interested in it.

On this forum, any mention of marketing/sales speak from a vendor who is not an active part of the community usually causes us ( myself included ) to setup the firing range on a vendor, vendor ends up putting foot in mouth ( obviously didn't know what kind of crowd he was dealing with before posting ), then we end up with another thread that is a black mark on the vendor and makes us look nutty to the outside world as well, possibly pushing away intelligent people who would ordinarily come here to contribute but who may shy away due to a bad first impression.

Newb, you mentioned that this is the first hit on google for prodeco... that's really, really bad.

I think the best case of action here is for a truce... Anthony cools the jets on the legal talk & we dump the nasty parts of thread into the cesspool.

Just an idea.. thoughts?

I am not sure what I want to project, 1st though I am real. I enjoy the test forum, just purchased a new e bike off ebay based on the the thread about ecko bikes, I also already own a Stromer and of all the bikes I have ridden still my favorite( not many 5-7 maybe) so I can also understand the OP selling the lesser power/$ bikes for the Stromer

From what I have read the Prodeco product is a pretty good deal for what it is so my interest in it, have not ridden any yet though. I read the Prodeco threads, I would be disappointing if the threads die

This topic has really gone wacky IMHO. But nevertheless there are kernels of information coming through that may benefit some subscribers to ES; - particularly if you can read between the lines. I would not want to see any of it deleted, but all the positions taken and opinions given could have been achieved without personal attacks.

Thoughts?

It's hard to classify someone as being a good guy when he threatens to sue me because I directed him to use paragraphs, makes some imaginary connection between posters that doesn't exist and spouts delusional nonsense about me defending Oatnet and bashing him. Then he has the gall to PM saying I should seek help.

Each to their own, but hardly what I would consider the actions of a 'good guy'. :?:

I agree that a legal threat is really nasty and pretty much anyone throwing one around loses my respect ( it indicates that they aren't willing or able to settle things in a proper manner and pull the weapons out before trying diplomacy ).

Sometimes good people do bad things in anger, however. Oatnet flamed the shit out of me when i was brand new to this forum, within my first ~20 posts, totally unprovoked. But beyond that, he has helped a lot of people and we've been civil since. Anthony sent me a nasty message, i let it slide, and eventually we got to talking shop about the ebike biz.

Sometimes people just react before thinking.. such is life.

I'm not apologizing for Anthony, I just want to see a truce from all sides involved as this was ridiculous.

Prodeco quality has improved as their new employees gain experience, the out of the box experience is awesome on the latest 2012/2013 Phantom X2's and the Outlaw SS is really, really nice but looks a different color from the photo. I helped a customer open his Outlaw box on Sunday but didn't get a chance to ride one yet.

Quote:"The bike arrived in perfect condition this past Monday. I put it together in about a half an hour including the front wheel assy, seat and battery. The Genesis bike rides and handles as a professional rider would want it to which is to say extremely well. The components are top quality in feel and appearance. I am able to maintain top speed of over 20 mph through hill and dale as the 500W motor and battery combo is a powerful package. I will recommend this bike to everyone that I meet. Your service Daniel was excellent and the shipping was quick with you sending it out the very next morning after final payment the previous afternoon. Thanks again for a wonderful buying experience."
