The design is similar to those children 3 wheel sliding scooters that you need to wiggle to move forward.
The thing I don't like about this design is that you cannot change your stance.
It would be very tiring to stand in the same position for a long period of time.
On a regular 2 wheel stand up scooter you can switch positions from time to time and swap the foot that is in front.

trikke make human powered versions also, in kids model too,
(and yes they are other variations on the market)
