small north east usa a123 20ah group buy

Postby gestalt » Tue Apr 03, 2012 12:24 pm

After being involved and watching the us group buy turn into a pariah thread I realized a few things. The 500+ post count trustability factor is right out the window, the only people I can really trust are a few choice members or vendors or myself and that damn it...I still need those cells!!!

As I'm needing about 64 cells what I'm looking for is a few good men, or ladies who would like to get this order somewhere between 100-200 cells who are somewhat geographicly close to where I am so that shipping is low and that if I was to pull a sangesf (which i wouldn't as i have taken a vow to the service of the electric revolution) you could just come over and beat the cells out of me.

Lets take some lessons from the pariah thread. I think reasonable time lines and transparency is appropriate and given the size of this buy should be well within my capabilities. I held of on posting about this until I had put together a paypal account with credit card attached and you know that only bonefide payments, not bank transfers would be allowed onto this buy. CYA for everyone.

Now some of you folks might be saying "who the f*ck is this guy?". Well, my name is Elias Moe, I live in Allston Massachusetts and drive a pedicab for Boston Pedicab as well as drive a truck for tribike transport. I'm 32 years old, 5'11" tall and anyone in on this buy will get my street address and personal phone number. And if that isn't enough well lets work together to find someone to head up this group buy. My main thing is getting the cells. I'm no control freak or a cheat and want to keep this buy very small so we can all play it safe. I may not have a ton of posts but have been here a while and so far I think the only time I flew off the handle was at jack rickard when he was insulting my brothers here. I would do anything for this community.

Theres really no reason for a group buy, unless you enjoy the group buy experiance  or you want to do 1000 or more cells for a price break....Anyone can contact Xin Wang at Victpower and order direct using paypal. Several of us have done this with zero problems. She is very pleasant to work with...and easy on the eyes (if her picture is real!).

Just let her know how many cells & shipping address...she will send their paypal email address and cost. Delivery is UPS or DHL to your door 5-8 days later.

hmmm, I thought there was a minimum order of 100 cells. But since you only bought 56 then I should have no problem. The 500 count price break was eaten up by the shipping in the supposed group buy so I guess I'll just go that route. EVEN BETTER :D :D

I definitely believe you are a trustworthy person & would go in on a group buy with you. :D

Let us know how your purchase goes. This company might still do a little wheeling & dealing & discounting too, so group buy discounts could still be a good thing if you promote it to the seller properly.

Anyway, it seems JRH shipment had a few bad cells, so you'll want to buy a few extra. Maybe check with him to tell the seller what went wrong that caused those few cells to slip-out & get bent/damaged during shipment to avoid that issue entirely?

Good luck & give us feedback on your product quality after shipment & testing, etc.

Thanks! :)

This is important. Victpower needs to put a bit more packaging on top of the cells in each box to keep compression on them so they don't slip around and get cruched. I had three cells crunched and one cell that came with a hole in it.

The one thing I can say that is good about a group buy is that it reduces the cost impact of damaged cells by spreading it around. Of course the secondary shipping is another risk and cost, so I guess it all balances out in the end.

Did Victpower send you replacements and take care of shipping them as well?

I'm in Worcester, MA and am intererested. Is this or will this go anywhere? I believe the opportunity is not just a group purchase on the cells, but also a full assembly kit, per http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=38545, as well as potentially a build party.

Yes, its still on if I can get one local person to get in on it. Me and my buddy want 64 cells so we need at least 6 more to get to the 70 cell mark.

I do like those pack kits and would probably need two of the 16s kits to make a 16s2p pack as would my friend. It would make for a pretty awesome build party.

What size pack would you be wanting to build?

Arkmundi wanted 12 cells just a few days ago. I would send him a PM now too, as he seemed serious about it.

Also, check my Group Buy "here"... maybe you can get that guy that wanted 32 cells to join you too???

Wish you the best. I had good communications with Xin at Victpower. I just hope the cells are good too.

of course the extra cells are quite needed to safeguard against bad cells.

there was a group buy going on at the local community workshop, and they were doing something like $32 a cell  and it seems too much to reship these cells driving the cost up. so I think local pickup is the way to go, after my last experience with this I like to see the people I'm dealing with.

Gestalt, I'm into to doing this as soon as you are. I'm in for 14 for a 12S build, 2 extra. Let's make it happen. Thanks.
