How to wire DC Constant Voltage Converter to solar panel??

Diagram for wiring a DC Constant Voltage Converter to (between?) a solar panel and a battery?

using 4 diodes(2 on both sides of the converter)?? Is one on the cathode and anode side necesarry? Or would only one on the Athode terminal be enough? Would it also work to splice in a diode on the cathode side?

Is it necesary to have 2 or 1 on both sides of the Converter??

What?? You need a panel, a (lead-acid) battery, and a solar battery charger (I've never seen solar chargers for other battery chemistry other than lead-acid). Many chargers here:

Check the charger's datasheet to see how to connected everything.

^I imagine the DC Constant Voltage converter is what the solar battery chargers are. Solar panels act as constant current sources, but vary the voltage depending on the intensity of light up to their saturation. So you need something that converts the current at a range of voltages to a specific voltage at a range of currents.


I'm not sure what the diode is for. I don't actually have any experience with solar panels except a little experiment making a tiny one. I imagine it's because you don't want to force energy back into the solar panel. In that case, shouldn't the DC Constant Voltage Converter be constructed to offer that production?
