Good day to you!

I'm I correct in saying that you have taken the xt60 connectors off and replaced them with bullets?
May I ask why? I was thinking of starting to use the xt60 connectors.

I haven't taken them off yet. Just found it unnecessary to have bullets already come with the battery from Hobbyking with 10ga wire so why convert the bullets to xt60 to connect to my wattsup meter when I just just keep the bullets. Nothing against the xt60 plugs. I find the xt60 plugs awesome to solder to, take a lot of heat without having the small bullets inside melting the plastic. Are diffficult to disconnect by accident and clearly labeled +/- when u solder unlike the ultra deans plugs I used to use.

Seems hobbyking.com has them on backorder but I recommend getting something like at least 3 sets of the 5pair packs so a total of 15 male and 15 female connectors. It's amazing how quickly the connectors get used up so it's better to have extra than wanting when it comes to getting the bike together.

I did a little test of my new setup. Not sure of how else to strain my electrical system so set the controller to 40 battery amps at 12s Lipo and 60v regen and just left it on full throttle and pressed my brake regen button for 3 seconds and let full throttle kick back on for 3-5secs then back to regen. Did this for a full mile keeping around 15mph as ebikes.CA simulator showed that's where I peak power for this motor. Roughly 5mins of this and the controller had barely started to warm up(being full of oil no surprise) motor was a nice hand warmer temp. Very happy with how the small amout of oil I put in motor now pulls the heat away from coils and right to the aluminum casing.
Now I'm confident that after that and barely being warm I can step up to 45battery amps easy and test that. the little 6fet is proving to be very strong when oil filled. I'll stop increasing power at 50amps just to keep my battery from going any higher than 5c discharge.

Could not be happier with bike now I finally have batteries in triangle.

Used a total of 2 on each side, 10-24 3/4" bolts tapped through both docs torque arms and the alum drop outs.

I did this as I noticed my other torque arm had fallen off as well. Decided enough was enough and put some bolts in and reapplied the epoxy. I'm confident I won't have any more problems with the torque arms.

Soldered up a 10AH battery from 2 spare 6s 5Ah packs then used a 2-liter soda bottle as shrink wrap. haha I know it sounds crazy but it works. Just realize that the soda bottles require a strong heat gun and should just fit around what your shrink wrapping before you use the heat gun. The best part is the plastic is super tough and ensures a very tight compression fit.





Just dug up this simple idea from a old forum. Pretty straight forward can use any plastic bottle really but I'd recommend using 2-liter or 1-liter bottle as are nice smooth cylinders.

72V10Ah battery hooked up to a 6fet Lyen controller (filled with mineral oil) powering a 9c 8x8 DD (a small amount of mineral oil) with settings of 40A battery 100A phase.
Now I'm still a small time ebiker in comparison to the 10kW+ builds going on here but this bike is a daily commuter to college that's 7.6 miles away.

Bike is awesome now with batteries in triangle like everyone recommends and I'll only go as high as 50A batt. 125 phase if I'm craving some real quick acceleration to the local market.

Seems I found the limit of a Lyen 6fet controller. Using a 20s10Ah battery and the controller set to 60amps 150phase under hard acceleration it just cuts out and works immediately after again as long as I be careful on the throttle. With 18s set to 60/150 I wasn't having any problems. So unmodified the controller seems to meet its limit at around 4.5kW. This is overheatingas it happens cold to touch. The 9c 8x8 seems to feel great at 20s . Shame I need a stronger controller to approach the 100v mark.
