Just wanted to put an advert out to see if there was any interest.

I have many HP power supplies which do 12v at 32amps. They will be fitted with sockets which will output to allow 4mm bullets.

Basically for the UK/ European market. I could post worldwide but you probably have people doing the same in America and Canada.

Just attach one or two 6s lipo chargers (or really any of your choosing) and have a reliable Lipo charging setup.

I was planning on selling each for £20.

put one each side of your commute and only carry the light lipo charger. I have had mine power my hyperion 14s flawlessly for months now.

Money is in higher amps and if you can run in series. Modding one power supply is easy. Modding two to play nice with each other and allow for bulk parallel chargin at 6s and also being able to power a rc charger is what you need to aim for. Consider modifying dell power edge power that can spit out near 100A at 12v or the HP supplies a 57A at 12v. Your power supplies are totally fine for most small end chargers but you start look at the Icharger 206-208b and 3010b charger they need voltage in the mid to high 20s to max out the charger. Hyperions would defintely laugh at the power supply.

Just consider creating a safe series package. Do not clip the AC ground and isolate the cases. Thats taking the sorry way out. Isolate the DC ground from the case on one power supply and figure out a nice clean way to bundle them together. If the power supply has a voltage regulation pins that you can use to fine tune the voltage it would be a plus for most of us. I support what you are doing. Dont take my rant the wrong way. Just telling you what we want or need. I would be willing to pay about 75 for one of these dual power supply 24v chargers and you should be able to pick up two supplies for about 30 bucks shipped leaving plenty of room for profit.

Hey Icecube, love your work on the custom harness. having made my own i know how long it can take to do a good job of them.

1) I have two of these HP server supplies to supply my 1420i hyperion, only the higher one needs the DC ground disconnected.

2) I figure I will only supply series chargers if people write me a signed disclaimer, I like helping people but grounds are there to protect people and if you don't accept the risk then I shouldn't either. The 1420i took 600w charging my 18s2p at 8 amps. I also have it Bluetooth capable to monitor from a laptop for outdoor charging indoor monitoring.

3) 400w means these will supply multiple 6s chargers at the same time.

Alex (Xanda) thanks for the glowing review, BTW i just treated myself to some new soldering tips. I have my weller pu81 and 3 tips on the way so soon my workmanship should be a little tidier.

still got 2 more exams but after monday Ill have more time to modify supplies on demand.

Cwah , thanks for the link an interesting read from dr Bass there. As for these power supplies there is a couple of trimPots under the hood. One appears to alter voltage from 11 to 13volts this was measured on my gt wattmeter as for the other pot I'm not sure might alter current limit if that's possible? But read from lfp in the other thread you mentioned that server supplies can't have their voltage pulled too low else they with shutoff then on then off then on ie hiccup. Best thing is as he said for bulk charge get a meanwell to. Cover the charge range to do the current limiting. Anyway just gone at off topic on my own for sale thread. still got a load of these for sale Uk or europe. Perfect to power your rc charger

Yes I can, only accurate to my multimeter but sure can do.

Jana I had a look at parcel quotes on interparcel.com

for 1 supply it could go via royalmail at 13 pounds and thats Airmail so i guess it get to you fairly quickly so as quoted before thats 33 pounds per supply

however I looked into 2 and 3 units and the price difference was 1 pound
2 cost £26 which is the same price as royal mail but slower,
3 cost £27 pounds which works out at £9 each + £20 so £29 instead of £33
4 cost £27 pounds which works out at £6.75 + £20 so £26.75 each
5 cost £27 pounds which works out at £5.40 + £20 so £25.40 each
6 cost £28 pounds which works out at £4.67 + £20 so £24.67 each

cant really do any better than that. will set them to requested voltages 13v or less (down to 11v)

On a totally unrelated note kinda in slight relation to your thread I will finally get to test my modded supplies that no one bought today lol. I have my I charger 306b coming in. Ofcourse my power supplies are 12v 700w Dells. They are in series for 25+v Icharger is the 306b with 1000w charging capability. I wrote a write up on how to mod and isolate and do some other things over in the battery section. Maybe it can help you if you get some more in for your customers. If you happen to wanna switch models or brands.

Thanks Icecube57. I know how to modify these for series connection, but I dont want to go down that road since it adds an element of liability as I will have modified the power supply internally and removed the DC grounds. Thanks for alerting me to the 700w supply write up of the dells I will check that out, but really its all about what PSUs are readily available in bulk for less. Hope you sell some of yours too soon. Ive opened my market to the whole of europe but not gonna sell over the pond and eat into your market. ha.

Atleast you got movement... i never moved the pilot originals... using them on my 306b now..., I make harness and there should be some liability on me but its very rare i frock up and if i do i correct or if they do they fess up and pay me to corrected. I dont think removing the dc ground is so dangerous... its messing with the ac one i would be worried about.

Thanks Ice Im sure eventually they will all sell but its not the most massive market to be in. As per DC ground removal, its no biggy to DIY as the consumer and on ES here ive shown how to do it to these via photos. Just not gonna make it easy for people to hurt themselves by doing it for them.
