    Milwaukee battery out of balance

I have the same issue and am charging the low cells with a separate charger. Trying to figure out why this happened in the first place. The BMS should be balancing the pack automatically. How did this go for you?

Thermal paste on hub motor windings. Dumb idea or dumb idea?

I know the thread is old but for the sake of anyone else, I give you kudos for thinking outside the box. Only mistake was asking the opinion of people who don't know the answer but are more than happy to knock you down. I did exactly what you're talking about. I put mx4 thermal paste between the...

Titanium Fatbike - Bafang Ultra and Phaserunner

Did you get that jutter ironed out? My BBSHD / Phaserunner on 88v on Khs 650 6500 full suspension frame had way more flex than that and if you ask me, the problem isn't related to the frame. That looks like a complete auto tune hickup. I've had my motor behave like that while tuning and the bike...

Grin Phase Runner / CA3 and BBSHD

do you have your brake set to active high in the cycle analyst? That would cause it.

Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited run

Tested the freewheel option on the beta software. Set to 2.0 amps this feature when combined with BBSHD mid drive does a phenomenal job at keeping chain tension for smooth acceleration both from a stop and coasting. When coming to a stop it instantly senses the stall current and disengages...

Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Hi Justin. What would cause the CA3 and PR to exhibit the following behavior? While riding, I notice that the bike accelerates and reaches a higher top speed at about 2/3 throttle. At WOT current displayed on the display drops about 10amps. Resistive throttle with 0-4.5v read on CA3 Throttle in...

What might cause an xt-90 anti spark mechanism to fail

Actually, the sure way to cook them is simple. The antispark function is accomplished with a 2 watt resistor. All you need to do is plug the connector in slowly and the resistor will overheat. Plug it in quickly and they last much longer. The other thing to contribute to the issue is if there is...

Grin Phase Runner / CA3 and BBSHD

Guys, I mentioned occasionally getting instantaneous overcurrent faults during part throttle acceleration and resolved it. After auto tune, I set current bandwidth and PLL to 0. Then I went to advanced screen and set Ki and Kp manually. I actually left KP alone. (auto tune value of 118) but...

Grin Phase Runner / CA3 and BBSHD

Yes I did. I asked someone there and they said as long as I stayed on the fire trails (believe that's what he called them) he said it was fine. I had street tires and probably went all of 5-8mph so I didn't kill myself. I don't appreciate your language or your assumptions. Have some class and...

Grin Phase Runner / CA3 and BBSHD

Guys seriously, let the Hugo's go and move on. Amazon has an 11 dollar kit with every JST connector you'll ever need for the rest of your life. Just get the crimper and watch a YouTube video how to use them. Soooo much nicer when you can make the wires the length you need anyway. Besides, you'll...

    new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Hey guys. Thought I'd chime in. Build is done and while I've only ridden it a few times, I figured this and subsequent posts may be helpful. I've had a BBSHD running 88v for 6 months in combo with a Phaserunner. Top speed has hit 53Mph and its been dead reliable. Thought I'd try a cyclone to see...

Compact Field Oriented Controller, ASI + Grin, limited run

I own a phase runner and absolutely love it. I recently got a cyclone which was only available with a speed control from Luna. Got the 72v ASI BAC 800 and was sent a controller with zero documentation. The kit is advertised as plug and play as well as pre tuned. The connectors on the controller...

Grin Phase Runner / CA3 and BBSHD

I did run at 52v for quite a while. The advantage of higher voltage is the ability to stay in 1 gear from a stop up to top speed and lower current draw while at cruising. Acceleration is greatly improved. I made some pretty important advancements today. By setting cycle analyst ramps as...

Grin Phase Runner / CA3 and BBSHD

Per the previous post, 4 pole pairs also works. The Phase runner just compensates with a lower calculated kv. Both 8 and 4 worked for me. Factoring in the gear ratio made the auto tune fail every time even if I played with other settings.

Grin Phase Runner / CA3 and BBSHD

Hey guys. More updates. This really has been much easier than expected. Internal Bafang Pas sensor connected and works perfectly. I simply connected the sensor plug in the BBSHD to the Cycle Analyst per the manual. The configuration in the CA walked has a graphic which shows if its connected...
