Kepler Bottom Bracket Friction Drive For Sale (Finally)

I sent a PM to Kepler xuriouasking whether the FOC VESC he had tested/repaired long time ago was what has made it to the kit. I received notice of a reply from Kepler, but no access/record of it, also ES site down at the time. I cleared out all PM folders for a fresh start in a ticipation.

New Build with EGO 56V Home Depot Battery - Wow

Charlie that frame space looks ripe for a BB apex vertical drop-in battery case and spring lock top of the battery like the lawnmower has. The vertical railed box is probably a shape that could be crafted with thin plywood. A manual wood block latch for the lock until evolving to a spring load...

    Mini velo

Thought I'd plant a seed in the hope of seeing some extreme mini-velo project from Doctorbass in or back to the future. John-in-CR has already done a very good job demonstrating the benefits of small wheel natural short gearing with hub motors. Smaller wheels have acceleration and braking...

Turnigy Multistar - lightweight 10C cells

Echo Silviasol, for any other lipo consumer device it's a convenient habit as well. Partial discharge storage from last use, charge less than full before next use. Unfortunately even notebook power management doesn't have battery preservation profiles, so little hope of smaller devices having it.

Turnigy Multistar - lightweight 10C cells

What cell voltage for storage? I'd go further for the moral of the story, don't buy full pack quantities of cells until your project is complete and waiting for long range, use a small test size pack during the build. Many parts on 2nd hand markets for anything are new for projects that didn't...

Turnigy Multistar - lightweight 10C cells

These packs fit nicely into a modified food container for physical protection, snugly strapped into a frame bag. They've got a very easy life operating from 85% charge to 60% discharge left between rides and charged again, and I've got a second pair and second container for duty/standby that...

Show Us Your Homemade Battery Housing

Bikepacking is normalising frame bags so it's hard to tell the difference at a glance. Using this at legal assist limit for longer range to see a little farther without battery overload, to get beyond usual pedal-only range and keep the pedal-only ride/reward feeling of recreational riding with...

    Inside a BBSHD New install

I got my replacement pedal freewheel from Lunacycle, and I added a BB spacer kit while paying the freight, as I used a regular BB spacer to install the motor, the variety of sizes are nice in the spares. Lesson learnt with the assembly freewheel pawls, the mistake has added 10% to my motor...

    Inside a BBSHD New install

Thanks sather, I need some of those. I've had Luna's new 30T chain wheel in mind as well, so will see what else is useful but with Rohloff XL the stock chain line is almost perfect. Considering I haven't even turned a wheel in anger and already broken it, I'll consider it a lesson worth learning...

    Inside a BBSHD New install

Anyone familiar with freewheel pawls and whether these ones on the drive side pedal axle freewheel can be replaced with something common with ordinary bicycles? I've got one pawl functioning, two broken from my earlier failed assembly that has torqued up on two of the pawls and split them :( May...

    Programming the Bafang Middrive BBS01+BBS02

Quick note recommending the Panoff software build and help file, in combination with Karl's compiled blog page. Got me started quickly after a few other initial issues, it detects the com ports available, I had an issue with Device Manager not showing the Ports (COM and LPT) along with incorrect...

    Inside a BBSHD New install

Thanks, makes sense. For future anyone like me: No, you can't take only the drive side cover off and bolt it straight back on (edit, unless you're lucky and have a svelt touch). See above instruction ;)

    Inside a BBSHD New install

I removed the drive side cover, 6 bolts. Now I can't get it back on. Axle has stayed in, bike was on its left side lying on crank/pedal, me kneeling working over top of right side, so only lifted the cover off (didn't come off easy either). I've tried many times again with the bike standing up...

    Inside a BBSHD New install

Thanks again for this thread Tom. I removed the drive side cover by hand, it had resistance but popped out. The black moly grease on the secondary reduction plentiful on this new/unused BBSHD, can see the other grease referenced from what's visible. Now I'm seeking any tips for refitting the...
