I've used the 10gauge Turnigy wire before. As far as I can tell it is thin aluminium, or something of that sort. I think the only plus to this style of wire is that it is very flexible. To solder you need to use a fat 100W iron and dip the wire in flux before putting it in the connector. Also...

Do you have a cycle analyst, or even a ebike watt meter? Charge the battery full, run the bike until battery BMS cuts off. Read the number on the meter when the power cuts off.

You are best to keep the controller exposed to the air, they are very water resistant. The connectors on the hand are not very water resistant.

FYI, 15Ah Lithium pack will probably get you as far as a 20Ah Sla pack.

You can add 3 more 12v batteries in parallel, you will then have a 36v 24Ah battery instead of a 36V 12Ah battery. You can use your original 36v charger.
