    Mixed control modes?

Not an expert, but the KT (Ketung) brand controllers are regularly recommended in the pedelec.uk forum as they offer fuller control via setup parameters allowing different types of power control/application (speed or power control) and how Immediate assistance input is applied. Speed limits and...

500w DD ebay motor with bamboo pegs, what glue?

Jb-weld is the go-to epoxy of choice this end, and is ok at autoclave temps which at 15psi are closer to 135c iirc, a smear covering the whole exposed bamboo should retain it in place even when shrinkage due to the more arid conditions takes place.

    20A 48V controller/battery on a 36V 500W motor?

Without a lcd display to configure the controller you not getting the best from your controller. Some(all?) the ktylcd displays also have a programming transfer capacity where a configuration can be transferred to a compatible display so you dont need to set everything 2x, or can use a less...

Good to hear the problem is sorted.. No idea about the old sensor, best guess, and it is a just a guess, is perhaps the cable was flexed once too often and started to develop an intermittent break in one of the wires?? just like every printer problem if you dont check the cable its always the...

?? what maintenance?? - Ive only been around ebikes for a year or so, and in here much shorter, but afaik hub motors kinda just work with the odd hall sensor blow out or ratchet pawl getting stuck if left in the back of a shed for 8months+, beyond that and initially sealing any disk brake screws...

    Please recommend me parts

What are your expectations, top speed, range, etc, and what sort of terrain will you be negotiating? I ride a similar cycle (see profile pic) fitted with a 250w geared hub that exerts upto 40Nm at the point the tyre meets the rd. Im limited to 15.5mph by local regs, but unrestricted similar...

    Adding lights (DC-Moto controller)

I would suggest either using a 2nd dedicated lights battery or pulling a full voltage supply directly from the battery, and using a step down voltage convertor if necessary. Even when controllers/displays have a switched lighting circuit its often limited in the amps or milliamps it can switch...

M5 Display - setting magnets and PAS sensitivity

Yeah mybad, I selected that ad as it was in the first few google threw back at me and the ID contained the '12' and the 'L', indicating side to use and magnet count, Ha. A pas sensor of that design is a pas sensor of that design, not brand specific. Display units however can be very picky...

M5 Display - setting magnets and PAS sensitivity

Post a pic of the controller/label, that way we can help you identify it, but thats not a real problem, just a hiccup/misunderstanding.. (Google for example a ktlcd3 manual for a quick double check yourself if still in doubt) Yes the sensor you have with the non kt brand name should work fine...
