That is a good tip, and I did see that site after logging in here after many years away.
My thought was that at the price, the Ogrphy is a pretty good deal for a drop in package. If I can uses these in 6S configuration with diodes of some kind, and/or an 80v voltage cutoff circuit protection...
I need to replace the six 12v batteries (6S, 72v) in a GEM NEV.
Almost all of the drop-in 12v LFP suppliers recommend not connecting more than 4 in series. I understand about balancing to .2v before connecting, and charging each of these 12v batteries independently because the BMW will cut off...
I'm still using the fat packs. In fact, if anyone has a spare case, I could use one. Melted one of the connectors on one of mine. Oops!
Please pm me if yo have a spare case you want to give or sell to me.
If you haven't driven a Tesla Model S yet and are interested, here's your
chance.
A dozen meet-up style gatherings called Electric Car Guest Drive will be
held throughout California in May. The gatherings feature guest drives of
the Tesla Model S, Fiat 500e, Ford Focus Electric and several...
Starts with a discussion of stationary power requirements and solutions (his Liquid Metal Battery) but adds some interesting analysis of other promising chemistries at the end...
@Fechter/Goodrum:
Are any of the latest Zephyr boards still available? If not, how much would it take to make a small production run worthwhile?
I understand they would be unsupported.
For all those following lithium–air battery development, here's a good review of current achievements and remaining challenges:

27 minute tour of GM's battery lab, with some good info about the Volt battery pack. Sound quality sometimes sketchy, but worthwhile, it gets better toward the middle and end.

Things in the battery world are about to get interesting.
IBM makes a very serious investment in Lithium-Air, which has a theoretical energy density over 11.5x current production lion, and a practical energy density of about 10x.

In case a 10x...
It will work just fine. I am using 6 fatpacks as an aux battery for my 1500w Wavecrest Tidalforce and it works great. Extends range about 15 miles, or 12 miles in turbo mode all the way. The torque and speed increase is incredible. An honest 35 mph without pedaling. Any faster, and I'd want...
