Thanks for all the replies and help so far. I hooked up some alligator clips to the drill and the battery. Looks like the wire on the P- discharge port was not thick enough to handle the load.
Now that I got that problem fixed, I had another question/problem to try and figure out.
I noticed...
Sorry for the lack of clarification. Yes, by "get nothing" I mean when I put the battery into the drill does not spin and when I put the battery on the charger, there is no recognition that the battery is on the charger (no blinking lights).
I do measure the correct voltage of 14.8-15V from...
Thanks for the replies. That helped me get it wired up. It is now all wired, and I am getting 14.9-15V from the battery when measured...but when I put it in the drill...I get nothing??? I am I missing something? The NiCad battery says that it was a 14.4V battery??
I am starting to learn more about building batteries. For my first build, I thought I would swap out some old NiCad batteries for Lithium cells. I have a BMS for a 4S battery. I am looking for direction on how to attach the P+ and P- from diagram attached here, the P+ hookup seems pretty...
I have a camping lantern which has a 4v 2ah lead acid battery. The lead acid battery is dead and I have swapped it out for two 18650 batteries in parallel. I maybe should not have done this since I don't know the answer to this question :-). The cables going to the connection to the battery are...
I have been reading up and researching how to connect 18650 cells in parallel and series. I understand how to do this in square or rectangular designs, but I don't know how it works in non square or rectangular designs. I am wanting to build my own dolphine case for my ebike and saw the cell...
Thanks all for the response. I am now thinking of replacing the bullet connectors with XT 60 connectors. Seems like checking the polarity for the battery leads will be easy enough with a multi meter. Do you check the motor polarity the same way? Using a multimeter and just connect the multi...
@dogman dan, what gauge of cable should I look for on the Y connector? I do not have the XT 90 connectors that are on most ebikes, but my batteries and motors have 2 way moulded connectors (SAE) as shown in the pics. The combined parallel batteries would be 36V 23.2ah
I have two of these batteries: http://www.electricbicycleworld.com/li-3/. Would it be possible to wire them in parallel to get longer range? If so, does it just require combining the + to + and - to - connections coming out of the battery packs?
Thanks for all the replies. As I have thought about using both of the 36V 11.6ah batteries, the question came as to if they can me wired up in parallel? Does anyone know if this is possible?
