    SHTF Ebike Survival

Wow, nun chucks against a chain is impressive! I am versed in Arnis (Filipino martial arts) but I will think twice with a guy with a chain, especially if the guy knows how to use it.

    SHTF Ebike Survival

Lol! My noise maker is better than none at all. A 9mm and the right ammo and training can take down a griz: https://www.americanhunter.org/articles/2016/8/10/alaska-outfitter-defends-fishermen-from-raging-grizzly-with-9mm-pistol/ I agree a 12 gauge is better under pressure vs handgun (gross...

Camping and exploration system with solar charging rig

RV's are nice but limited on where you can go and park; I like the stealth factor of suvs and vans. I enjoy tent camping, but sleeping inside my suv has some advantages. Last time I tent camped in the desert, I got a snake visit. After I saw the high cost for suv awning, I built the awning...

    SHTF Ebike Survival

Ah yes, a signalling mirror/device. Good point. I EDC carry a bic lighter already for fire making. I am thinking the lipo can start a fire as well. A broken leg/arm is a SHTF indeed.

    SHTF Ebike Survival

Great idea on the noise maker/bell and notepads/pens. I am also thinking of a battery powered soldering iron/solder for quick repairs. Last time I crashed, I ripped a wire off. Would be nice for field repair if not too bulky.

    SHTF Ebike Survival

Yes! Charger for cell phone! I use a 2-6s balancer with a usb charger for this. Hollow points are not advisable for bears; you need something that penetrates their thick hide...I use underwood extreme penetrator.

    SHTF Ebike Survival

I carry openly; it is legal in Arizona. And yes, I have concealed carry permit. In the woods, I can't be fumbling for my weapon when stumbling on a mama bear. Rare, I know.

    SHTF Ebike Survival

Ok, the title may be a bit dramatic, but what do you guys carry with you when out riding? My SHTF may be breaking a rear suspension and out 30 miles in the deep woods. I am talking about tools, spares and items you would need to get home. So when I go out in the woods with my e-bike, I...

Camping and exploration system with solar charging rig

This is my camping and exploration rig. This is a system: suv, ebike and kayak where I can go almost anywhere; where the suv can't go, it can be reached by e-bike not even 4x4's can't go. The ebike is a downhill bike with a cyclone 3000w motor+48V, 25AH lipo. This is geared for climbing...

Best Self-Defense for a Lady on an eBike?

Exactly. Situational awareness and avoidance. I see a lot of cyclist and joggers with headphones on. Easy prey. If everything else fails, rely on your training. If you are carrying a weapon (knife, pepper spray, glock), I hope you train with it.

Lots of punctures - replace with solid or puncture resistant

As others have said, solid tires don't ride well. I have very good success with dual ply downhill tires and gone tubeless. I think if you look into dual ply 29inch tires, there may be some choices like Maxxis minions/holly rollers. My bike sees almost weekly offroad and commuting 24 miles...

    RC assistance

two56, Very elegant design; do you expect spin out issue with the one way bearing because it is only pressed in? Looking forward to your testing!

    Yet another Lipo Fire

    Yet another Lipo Fire

Yes, Dogman. I had it taped up and the bottom/top of the steel enclosure has a rubber lining, but sides are bare steel. It was not a tight fit. Earlier that day, I had ridden it quite roughly and may have had the cells rub, causing a short to occur. There will be no more lipo around the...

    Yet another Lipo Fire

I was fortunate it was at least 8 ft away from the walls. I did not see any smoke damage other than some soot on the walkway tiles. It cleaned up with no visible damage with water and a little green scouring pad.
