I like 18-20 MPH on bike paths. It gets you across town quickly without upsetting pedal only cyclists going 12-15 mph. I still get the occasional hard core leg shaver who gets frustrated and has to pedal past me and say some rude comment....but that is all part of the experience :) I ride in PAS...

That is probably a great option, what you linked to. Like amberwolf said, 2WD is going to be nice in the soft patches, and at a price like that you can afford to take it to BMAN. Plan on it making it through one year, and maybe a few more if you clean and lubricate everything really well...

Hi Swe, If I was you I would likely either spring for a simple geared hub motor conversion kit (like an EZEE, bafang) or a mid drive conversion kit. A geared hub will likely be perfect for a majority of your riding and you will still be able to get up the short and steep sections in a low pedal...
