Do you run across overly competitive/aggressive cyclists?

Ya. Bad choice of words and i let jargon in. I meant more that some cyclists are a-holes who judge people on their body and look down on people that aren't "fit"

Do you run across overly competitive/aggressive cyclists?

I can provide some counter perspective here. Context for my ebike experience is: I got my first ebike to pull the kid trailer for commuting about 12 years ago. Kid 1 has since grown well past trailer size, Kid 2 also. Moved closer to kid schools, got a used Nissan Leaf for other kid hauling...

    Sortimo electric cargo trikes

In the end, it doesn't matter what direction you point the triangle and how you suspend it, it's still going to be less capable of leaning into the turn than 2 wheels and less stable off camber than 4. I'm no engineer, but this just seems like geometry.

Help Needed with Fastest possible Electric JetSki Conversion

Yup, water cooled is the trick, and there's not much out there. Someone with skills and tools could come up with badass custom heat exchange setup to properly cool a suitably powerful electric motor. doubtless someone already is, and it will be released in a year or two by an existing oem like...

    Bollinger SUT

Saw that earlier today. Love the overall approach of using high tech where it matters in the drive system, and low tech when it comes to the 'car as living room' aspect of automotive design. I'm not so keen on the total lack of aerodynamic consideration -seems a bit of a miss. Forgivable if...

Buying used Leaf in USA - general advice?

The family is taking a trip this August to see the eclipse in Oregon, then to the dunes and redwoods before heading back up to Canada. I'm now convinced this is the time to bring back an off lease Nissan Leaf with us. From what I can tell - prices on used Leafs in the USA are 4-5K lower than...

    Bicycle Conversion Recommendations

I have no horse in this race so to speak, but i think you should seriously consider the Kepler drive. Do a search here if you haven't already. It would be quite a bit more appealing to someone who just wants a boost. San Diego is relatively dry and flat. You can go with super...

TESLA JUST PASSED GM AS THE MOST VALUABLE CAR COMPANY

I'm surprised there is no mention in this thread that tesla's value is not just that of a car company but a big data company. Every model s and x out there is gathering what is likely by far the most comprehensive database on real world driving conditions and telemetry, providing tesla with a...

24 Volt Trolling Motor Battery Build/Questions

Use 7s. Safe replacement for 24v lead and the bottom is still well above the average for the 24v lead if you are looking to boost power. If the standard power for the motor is enough for you then it's worth considering 6s even, so you can use a standard hobby charger.

The claim to be patenting graphene supercapacitors smells like vapor marketing to me

14S cordless tools on a 14S ebike pack

The newer higher end >40v yard tools almost certainly come with controllers with temperature monitoring and roll back or shut off. Even my much older solaris 24v mower that i converted shuts itself down if I get too much clumping of wet grass. I just got the ego 15 inch string trimmer and...

    Fifield Inc.

Why they would put such a pimple of a generic bottle battery on a lovely steel frame boggles me. Especially when shelling out for the alfine 11. And at 5500 to boot.

Would this pinion with rim-rack drive idea work?

Seems like it would be hard to manufacture. UHMWPE does not deform easily, which is the point. So how are you going to radius a strip of milled material to the diameter of a bicycle rim? You could mill the curve itself out of a larger block but that's going to be harder and burn a lot of...

14s7p Panasonic PF build - current sharing advice

I'm about to start on my third battery build. First was a recycled toolpack cells from Makita packs long ago that I put together for my lawnmower. I learned there that even if it was OK to solder cells, I'm nowhere near good enough at soldering to make it OK for me. I also learned I don't...
