ebikes.ca Ezee hub motor kit with LiFePO4 4.5 years on.

Thanks Dogman. That made a lot of sense. I teach Maths and a bit of Physics, so probably should have figured that out by myself. Can also get access to school power supplies as well I'm sure.

ebikes.ca Ezee hub motor kit with LiFePO4 4.5 years on.

As I understand it the BMS is a balancing type, but I suppose that is designed more to keep a currently balanced pack in order than fix a badly balanced pack correct? I am currently flat out with my position at the new school, jobs around the new house, and other bits and pieces. If I get some...

ebikes.ca Ezee hub motor kit with LiFePO4 4.5 years on.

Well they still get me the ~10km return, but the voltage seems a bit more saggy. I pedal a bit harder to get up the hills. I'll hook up the CA when it arrives and report here.

ebikes.ca Ezee hub motor kit with LiFePO4 4.5 years on.

This is my first post in about 4 years. I bought a ebikes.ca Ezee kit around about August 2010 and installed it into a Kona smoke (all chromoly). Rode it regularly for a year and a half then got a job in South Otago NZ, (wet, windy and cold) and lived literally next door to the school I taught...

Recommended electric bicycle kit for educational workshops?

How about brushed DC motors, BMX pegs as a friction drive roller, a simple controller/switch and a 12v deepcycle battery. Doesn't get simpler than that.

hightekbikes.com motor kit review. Electric bike kit.

Back EMF is basically Newton's third law in the context of electromagnetism. Magnets spinning near a conductor induce a current in that conductor. This current has to oppose the movement that created it, otherwise the magnets would speed up and up and you'd soon be going faster than an F-15...

LiFePo4 Batteries: Care and Feeding For Beginners

Yes buying a 300+ USD battery and then not spending another $50 to properly mount and protect it is false economics. Factor in the case to your battery price when considering purchase. http://www.carradice.co.uk/index.php?page_id=product&under=range&product_id=31 I've ordered one of these...

Hyena's e-bike builds (now with HD video)

Hey you should put the LiPo in one of these. I've just ordered one from England for the kit you're sending me. If it will fit LiFePO4 then it will fit LiPo for sure. http://www.carradice.co.uk/index.php?page_id=product&under=range&product_id=31 That's a big ass seatpack. It was actually...

    Cytronex system

It's not aimed at the American market. If you were a Brit with the power limitations and speed limitations that they have, then it would seem a fair bit more inviting. The bike itself is supposed to be like a roadbike with a little extra. I'd love one to supplement a stable of bikes.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly with my new Bionx PL350

There's custom electronics in both the battery, motor and handlebar console. They all talk to each other making simple replacement of a part a non-starter. It is possible however to recell the BIONX battery, I believe that there's a thread somewhere on this board about how to do that. It would...

LiPo battery care and basic information

I have a question. If one got a prebuilt LiPo pack from a reputable supplier, what would be the actual chances of this over voltage->boom occuring? Asking because ebikes.ca now has LiPoly options for their Ezee kit. I'd assume that that pack has a BMS to ensure proper charging, so I shouldn't...

    First bike- Finally!

It really doesn't say. But it's got to be at the wheels. There's no other rational way to interpret a limit on power. How much goes into my lights and ohmic heating is really irrelevant. Anyway after looking at the feedback I've gotten here, I think I'm gonna take the route taken by most put...
