    Ebike kit advice.

Payment/Finance methods in Australia which are super convenient. I don't earn enough to have thousands of dollars sitting in a bank somewhere. Afterpay spreads the payment over 4x installment, Zippay can allow up to $1,500 purchases... And it's parent company Zipmoney can allow up to...

    Ebike kit advice.

With the USD to AUD conversion rate... Probably not the best time to be buying from the USA. (0.62cents to the dollar!) $1,000 USD would equate to $1,600 at the moment. So that makes EM3ev and Grin Tech seem less attractive from a price perspective. (Plus they don't have Zippay/Afterpay either.)

    Ebike kit advice.

Yeah. The Stance has drop outs. I did run with torque arms on my Giant Boulder and the old 1000w kit before it got stolen. I would prefer a hard tail, so I can install a rear rack with panniers, then I can do the shopping and so on without much drama... Not aware of a rear-rack that would be...

    Ebike kit advice.

Nah. Not wanting a store brought ebike. A kit is sufficient. Or at-least an outlet that will let me pick and choose the components without having a birds-nest for wiring. Dillenger was my normal port of call, but they have stuffed me around more than once, so I would rather not give...

    Ebike kit advice.

After a month or so ago, my home got broken into and my Ebike stolen while I was asleep. (Giant Boulder 1 + 26" 1000w dillenger ebike kit) Mostly was my main form of transport, used it for shopping, used it for attending Fire Station callouts and SES rescues, so my ability to respond to rescues...

    WHERE ARE YOU DILLENGER!

Well. the kit I was interested in from Dillenger has gone out of stock. So I miss out anyway. Sent Hyena a message, hopefully he has something that fits my needs.

    WHERE ARE YOU DILLENGER!

I checked out Hyena and they don't list any ebike kits on their website? "We’re in the process of developing a range of new conversion kits to suit existing bicycle and our new range of frames. Check back soon!" Their Alpha Bike Frame looks awesome, but just for the frame+suspension is $2380...

    WHERE ARE YOU DILLENGER!

Dillenger needs to meet you half way and make an actual effort, might be only "small change" but it's still money YOU are entitled to. It's stealing otherwise. But on the bright side, at least you got an actual reply out of Dillenger. Sadly... I don't really have any alternative options...

    WHERE ARE YOU DILLENGER!

Yeah. They blocked me on facebook a few years back when I asked a couple questions about my kit. Been sending them emails over the last couple months and not a single reply to any of my queries about a purchase I wanted to make. They seem extremely dodgy, never known a company that tries their...

Australian helmet laws, edit (survey results )

Helmets like all things... Are not all created equal. You have your cheap $5 kmart helmet that would be better used as a dogs chew toy... And then you have the DH helmets that push into the hundreds of dollars. The Physics behind helmets is sound... A shell that spreads and absorbs the impact...

Hey dillenger, where are the updated racks you promised?

The battery is still under warranty though as I bought a new one not that long ago as the old one died. The rest of the kit (Rack included) is out of warranty. Would rather keep it on a rack to keep it all nice and neat, not worried about handling as the front will be loaded down with panniers...

Hey dillenger, where are the updated racks you promised?

Sorry if it's not appropriate to bump this after such a long time. But I have the same issue as the Op. Difference is, I never bothered to contact Dillinger about it and simply kept buying new ones at $20-$30 a pop when they all inevitably failed. But I am now over all of that. The rack quality...

What kind of helmet do you use?

Even so. The statistics showed that the amount of injury during an accident decreased and that injury shifted from head to the limbs. That's not something that is easy to ignore. Also stumbled upon a video today where a professional rider had a crash and mangled his face... Something that a...

What kind of helmet do you use?

To be fair, most cyclists also wear horrible helmets that only cover the very top of their head, because they are cheap/minimum requirement by law. Today I'm seeing less of those helmets with more people opting for skate styled helmets due to their greater coverage protection. This discussion...

What kind of helmet do you use?

Ask yourself this. What would hurt more... Landing on the corner of a cement gutter wearing a helmet, or landing on a gutter without one, even at 15-25kph. I would much rather have plastic and foam between my skull and that. Helmets aren't going to prevent all injuries, but it will help...
