Yes I thought that was the case. This means that the original controller I was sent in the cheap eBay kit was a sine wave and the replacement they sent was a square wave. I had looked into a Lyen 12fet but I wasn't sure if it would be noisy and was one of the reasons I was hesitant to buy it.
