OSHW TO247 IGBT watercooled laminated half-bridge

That may of been me ? I posted about not seeing desat in your Sch on page 1, but then I clicked on the link and saw your did have desat so deleted the post as I felt a bit silly. I think it was Futterama, he did some tests and was talking about the leakage current through the Zener/schottky...

    DIY 6FET Controller help

Hi All Its been a while since I did anything on my bike and I haven't used it for almost a year as I spend most of last year making this silly mower. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vai5NOIvKbQ&t=3s But over the last week I have removed the optical sensors use for motor position and gone to...

Speed controller design (Based on arlo's Game Changer)

The ISO5852S looks good to me but I see it uses Capacitive Coupling instead of Opto Coupling and not sure if there would be any issues with that. Not sure about the single DC/DC supply for all the Low sides, its common to have a DC/DC for each low Side. And you will need Dead Time, If you...

Speed controller design (Based on arlo's Game Changer)

Like marcos said in his post above, you really should have desat protection. It saved my small controller many times while I was trying to get it going. The best thing I learnt from this forum was Desat.

Custom Controller Build + Needed Feedback! :)

Just solder on some extra wire to the tracks, I added 2 layers of 0.3mm think copper sheet on my controller but was running around 80amps. Maybe have a look for a PCB track current calculator to get an idea of track width. Do you have a circuit diagram.

Micro Lebowski Controller - DIY 3kw

I have 4468s in my controller and I run 150amps phase, I even increased phase current to 200amps for a couple of rides and it didn't blow up but I have backed it down to 150amps phase again.

Custom Controller Build + Needed Feedback! :)

I am no good at calculations but after looking at different deigns over the years I saw a number of controllers in the 1 to 3kw power range were using 10uF for the bootstrap cap and I used 10uF on my first controller. That power module looks nice, but I would be worried about heat and think it...

    RC motor torque.

RC motors spend there life in RC planes or helis with lots of air passing through the motor so thats why there are no out the shelf fans. I am using the Rotormax 50cc BLDC motor in my E-Bike but I am only runing it up to 3kw max which is around 1/2 its max power so it says at a nice temperature.

    DIY 6FET Controller help

Just came across these, maybe useful for someone. I mite use them in a work project. http://www.digikey.co.nz/en/product-highlight/r/recom-power/dcdc-converters?WT.srch=1&mkwid=sgrXOlHls&pcrid=64697050346&pkw=_cat%3Adigikey.co.nz&pmt=b&pdv=c

Arlo's power stage Leaf controller runs and drives page 103

The newer 337J driver chip is using a desat resistor of 1k now instead of the 100ohm that the 333J chip used. I started to use the 337 at work for a job.

Arlo's power stage Leaf controller runs and drives page 103

I think when the 333J turns on, the gate voltage will be approx 13V due to the 3 diode drop thing if you have a 15v supply. The resistor will keep a small load on the gate output and the gate voltage will stay at this Vcc2 - 3 diode drop. without the resistor and when current stops following...

Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev!

I am only running the Rotomax 50cc motor at 3kw with my DIY controller but would like to play with the 150cc some time in the future. Good work on your Controller, I want to try Sensor-less sometime.
