    Lightweight E-bike Gallery <20kg

I have two lightweight E-bikes to share... one is a 14.5kg mtb, and a 18.1kg beach cruiser. Both bikes running a BBS02 mid drive motor, and 12s lipo for battery. https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=71695 I typically use low pass settings when I ride the mtb because I like...

Friction Drive New Kepler carbon build

As an owner of a 6.9kg Trek Madone 5.5, I've often wondered the same. Road bikes are so fast with a strong rider... a little assist could go a very long way. 9kg is a respectable goal. Very interested in knowing the final kit weight. Good luck on the build.

How may watts needed for 25 MPH etc?

Agree with the others about the mountain of factors involved. In my case, on a lightweight mtb, BBS02 with 12S battery @ 20amps, pedaling hard, I generally use 30% assist, which is around 250w.

Steepest grade on BBS02 with NO PEDALING?

Oooh, what hills are you talking about? I'll give 'em a go.

First Ebike build X2... BBS02 MTB & Beach Cruiser

Go full suspension Fat Tire bike with spring seat and you won't feel a thing! Nice cruiser you got there. I think beach cruisers don't need suspension because they have big tires to soak up the bumps and biggest cushiest seats of any bike. Secondly, cruisers aren't geared for...

    New Bafang Crank-Drives

Unfortunately plan on it not fitting that location. The motor is deceptively large, and it needs a lot of space around the BB area. Look how open the frame design is for the electra, and I still had to grind the down tube and seatpost tube in order for it to fit. It's wedged in that frame...

    New Bafang Crank-Drives

When I say it was a tight fit I'm not kidding. I had to grind a couple of small notches in the frame before the motor would go in place. Only needed a couple mm of wiggle room. Initially the Coaster frame looked like it could easily accommodate the BBS02, and I was surprised that it wasn't...

    New Bafang Crank-Drives

Managed to pull off that location with a beach cruiser, but it was very tight fit.

Fun Commuter eBike? Bafang750W or Bomber eBike?

A lightweight commuter was my objective too. Ended up with a bike under 40 lbs with batteries. Settled on the BBS02 with no regrets. That mid drive has good balance of power and efficiency. My commute is 20 miles each way with 800ft of elevation, and I typically arrive with 2 bars on the...

    Your Whours for kms

New to ebikes, and I could use some help figuring out usage. Is it possible to figure watt hours from start and end voltage? On my 19.7 mile commute to work, the starting voltage of my 12S 6.6A pack was 49.2V. Arrived at work and the pack measured 45.4V. The controller is set to 20A. Is...

First Ebike build X2... BBS02 MTB & Beach Cruiser

Thank you for kind words, much appreciated. I'm already hooked. I've a had blast commuting to work and going on weekend rides, and my body definitely appreciates the cardio I've been avoiding over the years. Good times.

First Ebike build X2... BBS02 MTB & Beach Cruiser

I started planning my first ebike build soon after purchasing an electric car earlier in the year. Commuting with an electric car is definitely the way to go, but it got me thinking about other forms of electric transportation as well. Thought about getting a motorcycle, but ended up running...

    New Member Have Questions

I just installed a couple of BBS02 kits last weekend, and commuted to work a couple times this week. 19.6 - 20 mile commute each way, with 800 ft of uphill and 700 ft of downhill. I have a mtb and a beach cruiser. The mtb has 6.6A battery pack, and the cruiser has 10A. Arrived at work with...

    New Bafang Crank-Drives

I'm happy to report in as the newest member of the BBS02 club. Got both my mtb and beach cruiser up and running yesterday. Big thanks to the many members here that replied to my numerous PM's. I'll save the personal shout outs for the build/show off thread whenever I get the last details...

    Looking for a horn

The car horn is brilliant. Unfortunately far too bulky IMHO. Something like this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000ACAMJC/ref=nosim/cooltools-20 I'm thinking smaller form, doubles as a headlight, powered by CO2 cartridge inserted in a handlebar end.
