What is the best personal electric transportation?

Spend a bit more, get a proper electric unicycle, they're without doubt in my mind the greatest last mile personal transport solution there is atm and superb fun. I've had one for about 6 months now. Have put more miles on it than the previous 2 years on my ebikes - mainly because I can...

    Electric drift trikes

Pretty much the same as a sitting one cept boards either side to kneel on. 1. Get your knees as close to the ground as possible. 2. Don't need a slack angle on the heads, better close to perpendicular. 3. Some kind of rail for you knees helps heaps. Other than that build what works for...

    Electric drift trikes

Don't knock it till you've tried it. However you get the back end to step out its fun as hell. I've tried both front and rear wheel drifting. Both are fun. Drift by definition is a controlled skid. Doesn't matter how you achieve that. Drift does not necessarily mean powered skid. You...

    LightningRods mid drive kit

The chainring maximum size would be an issue for sure. Also from 2010 onwards I think the Giant Anthem and glory has the curved bottom bar of the frame, they suck for a mid-drive without changing the bottom brackets so you can have it a lot further forward, otherwise the motor will point...

    LightningRods mid drive kit

I did a little trimming in exactly the same way on my 2004 kona stinky and 2010 giant anthem.

Go test ride some bikes. A good bike with geometry that fits you is a hell of a lot easier to ride and pedal. If its good to ride without a motor, it'll be even better with a motor. Disk brakes are a bloody good idea, and hydraulic is better than cable almost always.

Please have a go at kneeling, would be an easy temporary conversion on yours. Even if just to see what its like. Take off the seat, adjust the handlbars forward some and put on some knee pads. You'll notice right away I think the major benefits to doing it (waaaaaaay more traction on the...

For a single sprocket setup, wouldn't be that hard to have a completely 219 chain setup... now THAT would have to be strong enough :-)

    Maybe the chain quality too?

I was thinking he could keep a guide at the back but have the tensioner at the front, both single wheel, avoiding the double wrap s-path he has now.

My twisting (small block but maestro suspension on an anthem) is in the swing arm I think not the main frame, but I like the arm. I should probably make something like that and see if it improves things for mine. What about putting a tensioner closer to the front sprockets, mounted on the...

The Beast Mid Drive. In Beta Testing.

Glad Ions82 brought it up because its what I was thinking from the beginning. Anything above 2kw is starting to really strain bike components, not just in my experience but it seems others have found the same. Rear derailleurs can't hack it, and who can afford a Rohloff! Now if there was...

Good effort! Looks like a huge driven 219 sprocket you're running there!
