Hello Kepler - I have been avidly following FZBobs drive along with yours. You guys are inspirational!
How does your drive feel for torque?? I'm a mechanical dunce but is there any multiplication of the motor torque - if so how would one calculate it??
Finally for you last idea, how about...
Fixvid - I was kinda hoping someone would raise the subject of drill planetry's. My new Hitachi battery drill is very compact and light (Hikoki in some markets) and has a whopping 130NM of torque with a speed of 0-500 rpm. The torque is very real, as a fencing contractor I run 65mm (2 1/2")...
Nice work Oaktsh.
Just to swing the conversation a little (again, I'm a slow learner) - FZ Bob is using a battery pack which I understand will deliver 30 amps (30C ??) with a burst capacity of 40C.
Are there battery packs "out there" in the same 4S to 8S low voltage style that would deliver...
Thanks for the excellent report. I've been pondering this system for some time BUT its "thing" of not being able to stop pedalling while applying motor power is a bit of a deal killer for my intended purpose (I often have to walk beside the bike and power it up a steep climb - and it has a big...
Hello Bob - thanks for a very inspirational thread.
How do you think your 125Kv motor would fare in a wet environment (I'm down in southern New Zealand, we have water and lots of it).
I have several commercial grade 36V, 227W/hr high amperage battery packs that I use in my business that I'd...
The materiel in bike frame tubes is very thin and a principle I learned in building boat masts was to ensure all "load points" had wide, ideally tapered bearing surfaces . . . I liked your first clamp idea better.
Hello again - do Banebots have data online about the ratings of their gearsets - I can't find it . . . where/how did you get the specs (I want the specs of their bigger offerings). Thanks
Hello - interesting ideas. Do you have a reference for the allowable torque on the outside end of these Banebot Planentries (I can't find one), and which model are you considering. Thanks
Thanks very much Amberwolf, particularly for the search results, my searches are not that effective at the moment as I'm still figuring out the jargon . . . .
In the Snow beast refurb thread DkAngel makes the above reference . . . . and it makes a whole lot of sense to me.
What I'd like to understand is how far it can be taken, the limits of "gearing down" are pretty obvious, but "volting up" is a little more difficult to get ones head around.
If a...
