    statorade vs statorade w/hubsinks

I think drilling holes is a really bad idea - You introduce dust and road debris into the motor. On the other hand, if you ingested some water, it will steam out more easily. The best solution is to have the right motor-size for the job. You will also save on your battery wear & tear since a...

    Phaserunner plug breaking

I am also interested in a solution of how to turn off the plug-braking of the Phase-runner. Not only it can consume insane amounts of energy, it also doesn't obey the battery-current limit.

Phaserunner V1 issues - Maybe you can help?

Hi, When the original PR came out, I bought several of those units with the mechanical switch and the molded battery+motor wires. I quickly discovered, that when you apply a regen phase current, the controller randomly will power-cycle itself, causing a short (but potentially very dangerous!)...

Where to get ORIGINAL Anderson Powerpoles for someone outside America

Thank you for this! This is what I was looking for :D

Where to get ORIGINAL Anderson Powerpoles for someone outside America

I know Mouser, Digi-Key, etc... They are quite expensive to buy from in the small amounts that I need. Our local dealer is also quite expensive, because he can be. This is the problem when you live outside the US... I contacted their authorized dealer in UK which let's you buy and ship products...

Where to get ORIGINAL Anderson Powerpoles for someone outside America

Hi, I am running out of andersons soon. I used to buy them at Grin along with my orders, but just to ship an order with those connectors would be extremely expensive. There are some online shops, based in the USA, that sell original andersons too, like https://powerwerx.com/ but they also ask...

looking for the simplest balancing circuit

Yes, with a resistor in series of course. But it won't work smoothly as the zener diode start to "open" a bit before the designed voltage, so it will always bleed out some current. Plus, just with resistors, if you have zener diodes across all your cells they won't be exactly equal so they will...

looking for the simplest balancing circuit

And speaking of surface voltages, a zener diode could be perfect to bleed out any excess voltage above a certain threshold, but due to their "knee" point behaviour it's not practical. Are there more expensive zener diodes which are have a sharper knee point? 24 of these (for my 24S battery) and...

looking for the simplest balancing circuit

I was quoting the word "problem", as a joke. Of course this is an advantage. It makes measuring %SOC by voltage only a harder task within the 30%-90% spectrum, that is all. True. It's more simple to me, as a user. It's very hard not to fully charge A123's unless you want to spend many many...

looking for the simplest balancing circuit

From my experience with my 26650's they experienced short-term short circuits, impressive C rate abuses, and after 9 years they lost only 20% of their capacity. My A123 20Ah prismatic cells have had longer short circuit by accident - They let such a high amount of current that the insulation...

Any lipo checker that is not powered only from first cell?

And what about this unit? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000052302952.html It's supposed to be also a balancer (albeit only at 50mA), but it's enough to assume that it doesn't drain only the first cell, right? And it measures from 0V-5V, according to the seller. (I asked)

Any lipo checker that is not powered only from first cell?

I am also looking for something reliable of that kind. I found this product: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32962134925.html The seller replied to my several questions about it: "Dear friend Thanks for your inquiry! The total voltage of the battery to be tested must not be lower than 4.80V or...

Real-time cells voltage display instead of BMS

Looks nice but to pay 170$ just to monitor the cells is too much :) And the whole point is that I find BMS's to be not trustworthy so I would also need a multi-pole switch to disconnect all the cells from the unit when not being used, and switches to bypass the BMS's main leads when not in use.

looking for the simplest balancing circuit

I considered those, and they waste almost no power since they just shuttle the energy via capacitors. But due to the accuracy of measurement, and if the voltage on the BMS wires sags due to significant resistance on the connection terminals, then you risk putting the pack away from being...

looking for the simplest balancing circuit

Having a midpoint balance is a "problem" with LiFe, since it's their advantage - the %SOC is extremely hard to detect in the midpoint since the voltage is at around 3.3V, and with the accuracy of voltmeters and wire resistances, you may find that even 0.05V difference in midpoint %SOC can result...
